The whole concept of
satan and hell
is a christian concept.
Satanists, I
mean the ones that do
it just for the
shock factor are really
just another
sheep following the
christian concepts
and misconstrued ideas.
Satanism, the
practice of it made
famous by Anton La
Vey’s church of satan
is something
different with less
emphasis on the
actual devil as perceived
by christians
and more on seeing satan
as one’s self.
I find satanism intriguing
in because their commandments and
ideals are so human,
and I don’t think there is anything wrong
with listening and responding
to our own feelings and desires.
The only thing that
I don’t agree with satanism is that good is bad
and bad is good.
In an ideal world, the satanic commandments
*could* work, but because
everyone has differing views [thank
god] it doesn’t work,
and because of the mystery and bad publicity surrounding this religion
[although the christian church see it
as a cult – I’m not
sure what others perceive satanism as] I don’t think
that a majority would
ever follow this religion. Like all religions,
it has it’s faults.
Kindness only to those who deserve it seems like
the human thing to do.
However, if everyone followed the christian ideology of kindness to everyone,
the world would have a lot less
problems as firstly,
no one would feel alone, rejected, tormented,
bullied by others and
therefore, they could give out kindness
themselves. But
kindness only to those that deserve it only means
more distancing from
those that show mistrust, and keeps the cycle
going. Indulgence
rather than abstinence I believe in, and I could
never belong to a religion
where to abstain from all things I perceive
as fun or at least take
away my free will. People that live in
modestly in the belief
that extravagance is sinful aren’t really
living. The only
thing that we can be certain of – well at least
partly convinced of
is that we are alive in this life. Heaven is not guaranteed, but
I suppose if one believes in it, then a modest life
is very little to pay
for an eternity of bliss.
