MashiMaro is the main character in the story of MashiMaro Forest, which takes place in an area around Korea/Japan. The name is derived from the word "marshmallow" since he looks like one! It sounds like how a baby would say marshmallow. MashiMaro...get it? Mashimaro feels neglected because he is different from other rabbits. Due to this, he has become a bit twisted from the rest of the society and chooses to act in strange ways. It is a way for him to discover and find his own identity, since he is not comfortable in his own skin yet. He is a very interesting rabbit. He is sarcastic and negative about himself in order to hide the miserable and lonely self. He also acts outrageously in order to find his own significance. For this reason, some see either love or hatred in "MashiMaro". MashiMaro tends to be a representation of everyone in his own way....
He brings a comfort to the people watching him becuase they can all relate to him. He has been rejected and unwelcome throughout his life. And who hasn't had pain in their life? Nobody. It is a simple fact of life that pain comes with happiness. Mashimaro offers a humerous escape from real life, while still giving a realistic outlook.
Mashimaro was hatched from the egg of a flying chicken onto a starry igloo. He lives in a small Korean town where he causes general mayhem and laughter. He has many friends, some of which are Boogaloo and Booma, Pista and Pistachi, Mero, Noonoo, and Piyoz. They all join in his fun and adventures, which are displayed on his minute-long episodes.
