Many people have asked me this question. Certainly friends and family members have questioned this sudden infatuation with a man I never knew, an artist who I will never see a live concert of.
My answer to that is always so simple (at least to me it is). It's simply because hide inspires me to be *me*. While he was alive hide was never frightened to show what he believed in, something some people can never achieve in their whole lifetime. In a world where people hide behind masks and barricades, afraid of ridicule and the narrow minds of their fellow man, hide never backed away from an opportunity to show the world who he was. A pink fluffy ball of psycho energy, a rumble-tumble little man with a big attitude, hide brightened his corner of the world and brightened the lives of countless others who worked with him and came to know of him. He literally gave traditional conventions the finger and challenged all boundaries.
