MAS Veterans 4-1 Taman Kinrara FC

PKNS Kelana Jaya
19 March 2006

A heavy downpour before, during and after the match did not stop MAS Veterans from another convincing win against Taman Kinrara FC at PKNS Field Kelana Jaya today. MAS Veterans conceded an early goal when Norazman and Razali failed to clear a long ball, allowing Taman Kinrara FC to take the lead. But goals from Capt Nik (penalty), Kadir and Junaidy (2) sealed the win for MAS Veterans, even though they had to play in an absolute appaling condition. The equaliser came when RizalYob was hacked down inside the box, and in the subsequent kick - Capt Nik sent the keeper the wrong way and kept his spot-kick record intact. "Give me another year or so, and I will eclipse Steve Bruce's record", he said. The second goal was a gem when Kadir, surprisingly fit when he played in the enduring rain, outpaced the last defender and poked the ball into the net. In the second half, it was all MAS Veterans. With the introduction of Rizal, Junaidy, Ismail and Adzha, MAS Veterans went into high gear and cut the Taman Kinrara FC defense into pieces. Chances were aplenty, but the final pass was either went astray, or stucked in the pool of water. In the end, only Junaidy managed to be on the scoresheet with his two well taken goals. After the match, the players were briefed on the upcoming Kuching Grand Slam Tour 2006 and Rosli reminded the players to plan ahead for the trip. "I know some of you have made your own plans, but if possible take the morning flight to KCH - our first game is at 4pm on Friday. Norazman might fly in early on Thursday night, but for the rest of you I hope we can meet at the airport by 7am on Friday. We will play two games at KCH and I want everybody to have a good rest in between. No Cherryberrys, no Stadiums and no Seroja Dangduts.", he said. The team also received Adidas warmup t-shirts, sponsored by Faizul. "If you guys end up the year with no losses, I will sponsor a brand-new Copa Mundial each", he added while the team were enjoying their teh-tarik session at a nearby mamak's restaurant. Sadly, no pictures were taken today since Mahzan's digital camera ran out of batteries, but it was yet another win for MAS Veterans - their 10th in a row for 2006!
