MAS Veterans bounced back from Jakarta's debacle with a comprehensive win against Petronas Philharmonic Orchestra (PPO) FC. However, the match belongs to Rusli Putih - he marked his return to the team in style with a superb hattrick, and goals from Capt Nik (2), Mauzi (2), Ramzan (1) and Kadir (1) completed the rout. PPO FC took the lead after 10 minutes when their striker profited from a defensive lapse - but as MAS Veterans adapted to the pace and weather, they began to control the match and blasted in nine goals altogether.

One of the finest moment of the match was Capt Nik's cheeky lob which left the keeper stranded in no man's land, and he also maintain his 100% success rate from the penalty spot. After the match, he claimed Wayne Rooney and Ronaldo passed him a few tricks when he had the opportunity to command the flight for Man Utd's Far East tour. The evident came in the forms of some JPEG files from Capt Nik's O2 Mini, which showed him rubbing his shoulders with the likes of Nilstelrooy, Rooney, Giggs, and Ronaldo, while almost at the same time - Kadir had his hands full with Man Utd Red Cafe waitresses in Jakarta.

Rosli Jaafar congratulated the team for the superb performance, even though he was still clueless why the team plays like champions one day, and chumps on another day...
