We have two rabbits.

The oldest one is "Terry LaBunny" (Terry Labonte the NASCAR driver). He was given to us by a friend of my hubbies. I think their little girl just wasn't spending the time caring for him or something. But anyway, I was tickled. I made him a huge cage in the chickens pen (up high). Nothing can get to him there. And, YES, I went hunting for a friend for him. I found "Fumper" (not Thumper). But "LaBunny" kept trying to mate with him, even though they were both boys. So I had to put Fumper in a cage and then in the larger run I made for LaBunny. When Fumper got bigger I let them be together. Now Fumper is almost bigger than LaBunny.
