Our Dogs

We have five dogs living and a few waiting at the Bridge.

Our oldest is "Tummy". He is 16 (in people years). We got him from the local Animal Assistance League. They rescue as many animals as possible from the local pounds. We've had him for almost 16 years. He was neutered when he was a puppy.

. . . . . . .

Our next oldest is "Miss Molly". She's approx. 4 years old. We live out in the country and "drop off" reject dogs are common. Molly had one of the most severe cases of sarcoptic mange I've ever seen. Her paws were so infected they were oozing between them. Also, she had some type of seizures that she seemed totally ashamed of. After a series of injections for the mange, she was allowed in the house with the others (it is very contagious). She would hide when a seizure was coming and acted like we would be mad at her for it. After the mange healed, the seizures stopped. Someone suggested the infection had gone to her nervous system and compromized it?! Just look at her now! Someone trained her very well, I'm shocked they would give her up. Oh, she's also petrified of gunfire. I can't even target practice around her. She was neutered right after the mange cleared up.

. . . . . . .

Our next oldest is "Lucky" or "Yucky". He's approx. 1 years old. Lucky was the product of street dogs that my boss found when relocating his business. The father are taken to the pound and destroyed before anyone knew what was going on. My boss tried to keep Lucky, but he lives in town. Lucky has the skill of climbing ANY fence, no matter how high. Like a monkey. For a time there, I thought I wasn't going to be able to keep Lucky either. Living on a rope is NO life. But, I hot wired the entire back yard (this is a "country" back yard), Lucky stays home now! He spends his days herding the goats around and cleaning them (yuck!). At night he sleeps at the foot of my middle sons bed. He needs to be neutered.

. . . . . . .

The next to youngest is "Peanut" or just "Nut". He was born on my youngest sons birthday. Sept 26th. I got him for a Thanksgiving present when he was approx. 8 weeks old. He will be neutered when he is 4 months old. He's a purebred Chihuahua. At 3 months old, he weighs almost 3 lbs.

. . . . . . .

The youngest is "Smokey". He was born on the day AFTER my youngest sons birthday. Sept 27th. I got him on Dec. 30th. He's only one day younger than Nut, but much smaller. He will be neutered when he is 4 months old. He's a purebred Chihuahua. At 3 months old, he weighs 1 lb 5 oz. The second pic is of my youngest son, Joe, with Smoke.
