Secrets

Patt

I wish I could tell him how I feel.
No, it would ruin our friendship.
He's the best friend I've ever had.
It's getting harder and harder to shove these feelings aside.
I watch him when he isn't looking and I know I shouldn't be.
He makes me smile.
He makes my heart beat faster.
He makes me hard.
Holy Shit, what the hell do I do now?
Keep quiet, or lose the only home I've ever had.
The only friend I've ever had will be gone with it.
Keep your dick in your pants and your brain in your head.
Think with the big head, Sandburg.
Fuck, I think I love this guy.
Do you suppose that anyone dies from a broken heart?
I hope not.
Mine is broken.
I want him.
I need him.
Fuck…  I'm in way too deep.
Today Taggert told me that someone saw me checking Jim out.
Damn, what do I do now?
I told Taggert to please tell Jim that I had to go home.
I'm sick.
Really sick.
It won't be long and Jim will hear it in the gossip.
I've always hated secrets.
Now I won't have to worry about it anymore.
I have to pack and get out of here before he gets home.
And I have to leave a note.
He needs to know that I'll still be his partner at work.
When did I start crying?
How do I stop?
Oh fuck…, Jim's home.
Jim came running into my room.
My heartbeat must have scared him.
He asked what was wrong.
I told him I found someone I was going to share a place with.
He just eyeballed me and said, "Oh Yeah, who?"
I'm such a dumb ass.  I, of course, told him it was none of his business.
Like I wouldn't tell him where I was moving.
He asked me what was really wrong.
He put his hands on my shoulders and held me close to him.
Then he kissed the top of my head.
Then he moved down to my nose.
Damn, what was he doing?
He must be doing it wrong if I am asking this, eh?
I leaned back and looked at him and said, "Jim, I'm in love with you."
He informed me that he was in love with me, too.
Hot damn.
Who would have thunk?
No more secrets.
Secrets out!
Hell, we're out!
