Mary's Poem
To lift you like a child hemmed in by pressing crowd's,
And look out o'er that circle that becomes your life,
And watching on that wider world you can feel proud -
Of all you have achieved despite adversity and strife.

To catch you when you stumble or you fall from Grace ~
And steadfast, help you plant your feet on higher ground,
And help you bring the smile back to your cheeky face ~
And fill the room once more with laughter's cheerful sound.

To hold you close at heart and never let you go,
No matter what the troubles or the pains you face,
So deep inside whate'er the problem you will know ~
That someone's thoughts are with you in their special place.

These things are what OUR special friendship means to me,
I know here in my heart that it won't end,
And though we're parted physically by the sea,
I'm happy that you found me and became MY friend.
