Heidi started riding with me when she was about 8 or so; now she's
almost done being a teenager. She started on Donald, an older quiet
quarter horse and quickly progressed through the ranks, riding just about
every horse I could find for her.
Because she was such a laid back, ho-hum kid, she got to ride the chestnut throrougbred mare, Chorus Line, that had just about had it with everyone else. She got along famously with her, because Heidi just didn't buy into her thoroughbredness. Over the years, the pair of Heidi and Chorus Line have ridden and shown, winning spectacularly, and losing a few in the same manner! Chorus is presently in foal, and is slowing down to quiet trail rides and lots of attention. Heidi has just agreed to lease Gus, our Hannoverian schoolmaster belonging to Debbie and Joanne. Joanne has heard the call of the Fish, and turned her interest to warm weather, clean lake living, and has decided not to show Gus this summer. Lucky for Heidi! We wish her much success with her new mount! |
