Sonja Alina Kraven was born back in March 23, 1978 in England to Markus and Annabelle Kraven. She was and still is their only child, a gifted and talented child as well. From earlier years on until she was 16, there seemed to be a gift resting inside their daughter that they didn’t know about. Her life was tragic though, when a large demon killed her Aunt and Uncle’s only children right in front of her, she had made the decision to do her hardest to stop things like that from happening to anyone else as she could tell from that moment on, something was terribly wrong. Without any hesitation, she became a hunter and left home for good. While on a hunt in Scotland one year, she was attacked and bitten by a werewolf. Now, in some cultures you can be born into it or bitten into it. For Sonja, she was bitten and there was a whole lot of blood on the ground when she was bitten, enough to make people think she was dying when she was actually changing inside. The wolf had shattered her right shoulder when it bit her, but she healed up rather quickly, which is something it did not expect. For the disease it was carrying to actually transfer over to her, that result alone would make her a target quickly for other hunters if they knew. She made the choice to not tell a soul until she knew in some small way that she could trust them. As the years went on, Sonja was approached by a company based out in New Orleans, Louisiana called “RPIT” (Supernatural crimes in the St. Louis region fall under the jurisdiction of the Regional Preternatural Investigation Taskforce, also known as the "spook squad" or "RPIT" (pronounced "rip-it"). RPIT is dangerous and low status work, and the division is therefore staffed largely with police officers that have offended their superiors.) who had an odd way of knowing that she was not only a demon-hunter or a werewolf, but that she had been born into a thing called “Necromancing” or “Raising The Dead”. Sonja always knew she was different, now this just gave her more proof. Being a werewolf is not as easy as some may think, especially when you can attract the wrong type of crowd. What do I mean? But the wolf in her also gives her a few advantages; increased stamina during a hunt, the ability to sense when demons are near (her eyes will change color from pale blue to a brilliant blue color with a silver halo, her canine teeth on her upper jaw will extend and dip out over her mouth.). However, there is the occasion where she has been disliked for being as powerful as she is. People can get jealous if you have too much power and will try and stop you, the last thing she needs is to ever show how much she can do. She is trained in weapons, hand-to-hand, and her necromancing powers are more powerful at night. For Sonja, if she ever does shift to her wolf form her clothes bind to her fur and blend in. Always depending on the outfit, as the newer outfits can end up causing her to shift back to human and be naked. Being a lycanthrope (the most common term for a werewolf), your animal can be sensed by OTHER animals, which can frighten them before you think about it. Lycan’s also tend to (in human) growl or snarl at offenders to send them off, it’s not easy because most other humans do this or stare you down. At all times, Sonja can be very relaxed and quite calm; given her mood she can also be very playful. Only thing she doesn’t mess around with is her work and she will become quite serious about it if it’s dangerous enough. Given that … Sonja is ½ werewolf and ½ human now, depending on if she has children or not … they will most likely be ½ werewolf as well but born human. When she does shift, however, add 50% for her height and another 100% to 200% for weight adage. What does that mean? She’ll be over 10 feet tall when in her wolf form. For werewolves (and wolves in general), howling is a form of communication. It can signify an attack or a hunt, or even mourning the loss of someone close to you. Werewolves have exceptionally great hearing for anything and everything; their metabolic status is also a lot higher than anyone else so getting drunk is not an option when you can’t do it. Doesn’t matter how much or what they drink, it’d never happen. Sonja holds a bachelor's degree in preternatural biology and is a trained vampire executioner. She also has a two-semester background in comparative religion. These courses often told her useful tidbits about other cultures/mythologies, and throughout the series she learns vastly more about vampires, lycanthropes, and other preternatural creatures. RPIT relies on her for information about a wide variety of supernatural entities. She is also RPIT's lead vampire executioner, which makes her a Federal Marshall. Sonja is one of the most powerful necromancers in the world. She can raise zombies, sense the dead, sense vampires and lycanthropes and estimate their power level, and can resist (at least partially) mental influence from vampires. She can raise zombies that are centuries dead, and can do so without human sacrifice. She is one of the few necromancers who can act as a "focus" to combine the powers of multiple necromances, and is the first person in centuries that can raise vampires (during daylight) as if they were zombies. A werewolf (also lycanthrope or wolfman) in folklore and mythology is a person who shapeshifts into a wolf, either purposely, by using magic, or after being placed under a curse. The medieval chronicler Gervase of Tilbury associated the transformation with the appearance of the full moon, but this concept was rarely associated with the werewolf until modern fiction writers picked up the idea. Most modern fiction agrees that a werewolf can be killed if shot by a silver bullet, although this was not a feature of folk legends. Werewolves are sometimes held to become vampires after death. Sonja's magical power is also useful in a more general respect. She is able to sense other magic when active, and can destroy many spells simply by flooding the affected object with her own raw power.
