Chapter One.

Entering Marlena's apartment over Kelly's, all Carly saw was boxes packed and the same with luggage. Marlena was moving back to New Jersey for good, she needed to "move on" and staying in the past was never a good thing. At this moment, Carly had married Alcazar, Michael knew he murdered A.J., Reese & Ric slept together, Carly knows Reese is her ex-best friend from the past aka "Charlotte", Durant has been shot and suing Bobby, etc cetera. Emily was there with her, they weren't too happy about her leaving but they couldn't stop her. Marlena came down the stairs; the movers would be at the apartment in four hours...so you could call this a last "hoorah" for her. "Hey Emily, Hey Carly." She said as she stopped on the landing and leaned against the railing. "Hey Marlena." "Hey Marlena." "Something the matter? I get the distinct vibe of something wrong here." Emily kind of half-frowned at Marlena, "I think I can speak for Carly on this one...we're just still upset you're leaving." "Hey, you had to know that I would leave again sometime...and not to mention with everything going on right now its better that I leave before something happens to me." Emily blinked and then nodded; she could understand Marlena's worry with all that had recently happened around Port Charles. Carly was slow to adapt to reasoning but for now she pretended like she understood. "Are you going back to work? As an Agent I mean." "Yes and No Carly." "What do you mean?" "Given my...special circumstances...they don't want to risk any harm coming to me so I will be working from the local headquarters behind a desk." "What do you mean...special circumstances...?"

Marlena smiled like the Cheshire cat, "Wouldn't you like to know." Carly's jaw-dropped as she finally understood! "Marlena, you're not having a baby...are you?' "What gave it away?" Emily squeaked and hugged Marlena, whom laughed. "Does Jason know?" "He should, it is his kid." "Is that another reason why you're leaving?" "Yes, because I want to raise the child away from danger and/or away from Sam." "Does she know?" "I opted for not telling her, it would be a headache I don't need. I did however tell Jason he could see the child whenever he wanted after s/he was born." "So you're just going to let things happen that way?' "Everything happens for whatever reason, Carly. Like it or not, people have to move on if they still all the life around them continues without them." Marlena wasn't staying in New Jersey for very long, she had told Jason about her plan to move to Pine Valley. Jason had no trouble with that as long as it was after the baby was born. Emily hugged Marlena before they left for one last dinner at the Metro Court. "Thanks Guys." Marlena waved bye to Carly and Emily after they dropped her back at Kelly's; where it was funny to find Sam waiting for her as the movers were caring her boxes to the truck. "Sam, what are you doing here?" Mike had let the movers into the apartment. "Jason told me you were moving back to New Jersey." "Not for long, just a year or so." Marlena leaned against one of the tables, her back popped as she did that. "I just wanted to say goodbye is all." "Well that's coming as a surprise..." "Are you ever coming back?" "To Port Charles? No, no I'm not...I'm moving back to New Jersey for a while and then I'm moving to Pine Valley." "Pine Valley?" "Yes; my great grandmother left her large home in my name and I've decided to go and claim it."

After Sam left; Marlena led the movers towards the house she had in New Jersey and they moved her things inside. During her pregnancy; she made many trips to the doctor to make sure the baby was all right and s/he was just fine. During her last month; she checked herself in early to the local hospital so the doctors could monitor her day and night. One night while asleep is when her water broke and it was around 5 a.m.; the nurses rushed in with the on-call doctor to help her deliver the baby. "Congratulations Ms. Huffinton, it's a baby boy." The nurses cleaned the baby up and let her hold him. "What name shall we put on the birth certificate?' "Dorian Jason Morgan." The nurses nodded and went to go do as she asked. A week or more later is when she and the baby came home; Carly and Bobby had come out to visit. "He's so adorable, Marlena. Just so adorable." Bobby said as she held Dorian. "Thanks Bobby. He really is." "Did you tell Jason yet?" "I left him a voicemail on his cell phone." "Did he call back?" "No, but with everything that he has going on...I'm not surprised about that." Marlena held Dorian when Bobby gave him back to her. "This lil one sleeps all through the night." "He does?" "Yes he does; which is a good thing since I can actually get things done while he sleeps...then again I'm up all night sometimes...so I work anyway." "Work?" Carly raised a brow. "Work out, I've lost some weight since I had him." There was a knocking at the door, Marlena perked and looked at Carly. "Could you get that for me? I'm going to feed and change him." "Sure." Carly left the room as Marlena went to feed and change Dorian; who happily gave her baby kisses for it. Carly opened the door and smiled, "Hey Jason. Something I can do for you?" "Yeah, is Marlena home?" "Back room; she just was going to feed and change the baby." "Thanks." Jason stepped inside and moved towards the back room; Dorian squeaked and made grabby hands for Jason when he saw him. Marlena looked up and chuckled, "Hey there stranger. Seems he knows who daddy is. Want to hold him?" "Sure." Marlena handed Dorian to Jason who coo'd and cuddled up to his daddy. "What did you name him?" Jason asked as he sat down in the rocking chair, Marlena chuckled. "Dorian after my father and Jason after his daddy...and so that makes it Dorian Jason Morgan."

"Marlena, we're heading back to Port Charles." "Okay Bobby, thanks for coming out." "You're welcome." Marlena sat down on the couch and shut her eyes for a bit, "I'm so tired." "Then why don't you go lay down?" "And what? You're going to take care of him?" "Sure." "Ah, all right then...I'll be upstairs if he gets fussy or anything." Marlena smooched her son on his forehead and went upstairs to take a nap. Jason came up a while later and put baby Dorian in his crib in the nursery and went back downstairs to watch TV just for a bit. Marlena woke up a few hours later to find Dorian in his crib asleep; she walked downstairs after showering and dressing to find Jason asleep on the couch. She chuckled as she turned off the TV and covered him with a blanket; trudging into the kitchen she made something to eat and went back upstairs as she turned the baby monitor on while she read. Jason left the next morning while Marlena was out with the baby at the store shopping. Months later when Jason would come to visit is when he'd see the house packed up; Dorian was asleep in his playpen while Marlena was on the phone. "Hey Jason, come on in." "Thanks, so I guess this is it huh? You're moving?" "To Pine Valley, the movers will be here in two hours and shall be driving everything down for me. Dorian and I fly at the end of business today." Which means they leave town at 6:00 p.m.; mind you Jason had stopped by quite often to see his son...but this would be the last time he could see him. "What time is your flight?" "Eight o'clock." And none the less paid in full by the C.I.A for a safe trip on one of their private planes. Jason spent time with Dorian as Marlena let the moving men inside to pack up everything in their trucks and they left straight from her home to head to Pine Valley.

Chapter Two

(Monday, June 27, 2005; 11:25:03 PM)

Marlena and Dorian’s flight landed around 11:45 PM that night; the limo drove them straight to the large house. Her great-grandmother’s lawyer showed the next morning with the Deed along with the checking/savings account that she left behind for her. “Good grief that’s a lot of money, huh honey?” Dorian coo’d at his mother while on her bed; the moving men had just arrived and were putting everything in the room that would be the ‘nursery’. She had long forgotten who her great-grandmother’s neighbors’ were as she went to unpack his crib things and put him down for a nap. Later that night she heard the doorbell ring and raised a brow while she went to go answer it, “Lucky for me I finished unpacking three hours ago.” With all the boxes taking up an empty room in the guest wing, she was content in her new home. “Who is it?” “Adam Chandler.” Marlena raised a brow as she looked through the peephole before opening the front door, “May I help you…Mr. Chandler? Or is that too formal?” “No that’ll do...” “I figured.” He raised a brow at her, “For someone who just moved into town Ms. Huffin...” “That’s Agent Huffinton to you. Agent Marlena Huffinton.” “Marlena? You mean to tell me that Grace Arlene Huffinton’s great-granddaughter is a..?” “A CIA agent? Yes I am…now then what can I do for you Mr. Chandler?” “May I come in?” “Fine, but you have five minutes.” Adam (not JR) stepped inside and she shut the door behind him. The inside of the large home was just like the Chandler Mansion; except her great-grandmother had it in for the Zen feel of everything before she died so it had been changed around while she was in the hospital. “Something the matter, Mr. Chandler? Or did you lose your train of thought?” That’s when she heard Dorian crying on the baby monitor, “Excuse me for a minute won’t you?” “Yes, go ahead.” Marlena took off like a bullet upstairs to go see what the matter was, she returned with her baby boy on her hip after changing him. Dorian had the facial features and hair of Jason, but the eyes were her’s.

“He looks just like my grandson, Adam the third.” She raised a brow as she set Dorian in his playpen to play with some of his toys. “More than anything I can assure you that their father’s are two different people.” She bent down and ran her hands through lil’ Dorian’s hair, and grimaced a tad. “No more than likely your grandson and my son’s father come from two different worlds’.” ‘Especially since Dorian’s father is a Mob boss’ Hit Man.’ Marlena quietly thought to herself as Dorian crawled into a corner to play with a stuffed animal. “Depends on what kind of man his father is.” “Who? Dorian’s or Adam’s? Dorian’s dad works for a coffee importer in Port Charles. What’s Adam’s father like?” ‘If he’s anything like him…I’d be terrified.’ Marlena chuckled quietly to herself as she thought that while watching her son play. “Would you rather find out for yourself?” “That’d be better then how some parents describe their own children.” “Around 12:30 tomorrow then, I’ll have someone come over and get you.” ‘Oh…fun.’ Marlena groaned lowly and let Adam out, locking the front door behind her. “I’m going to have to bring you with me tomorrow. Now then, let’s get ready for bed.” She giggled as she took the baby monitor and Dorian upstairs for his bath and bed. After running out to the store for a rather quick grocery shopping fiasco and picking up another playpen for the office/study that was upstairs; she set Dorian down for his nap as she went to look in the phone book for a nanny service. Her great-grandmother’s house workers had changed but were still kind as ever. The Butler walked upstairs to where she was, “Madam, your escort is here.” “Thank you.” The Butler bowed and went back downstairs; Marlena went and got Dorian who curled to her as she carried him downstairs. She raised a brow when she got in the foyer and there was a young man standing there. “And you’re my escort?” Turning around; a man about five feet tall dressed in jeans and a dark gray tee-shirt with sneakers on. “I’m Adam (JR); Adam (SR) sent me over.” “I see.” Marlena was dressed in pale green slacks, a white tee-shirt, and sandals. Dorian looked over and made grabby hands at JR, she quietly watched her son and looked back at JR. “JR, this is my son Dorian…Dorian this is JR. I think he wants you to hold him…that is…if you want to.” She raised a brow as Dorian squealed and squirmed while making even more grabby actions at JR. “All right.” JR carefully took Dorian from Marlena’s arms as they left the mansion and walked over towards the Chandler house hold.

Dorian watched the tree’s as they walked over in silence, Marlena chuckled at her son. “Your father…err…unless I’m wrong on thinking Adam is your father JR…told me that you have a son? Adam the third I heard.” “Adam is my father...” “Ah okay then…dare I ask…if that’s not a pressing issue…whose lil Adam’s mother?” “His mother…Babe Carey...was my wife.” ‘Babe Carey…oh gosh…I recall hearing about this in Langley…when there on a case.’ “Uh, you don’t have to tell me anything more JR. Adam probably didn’t or did tell you…but I am a CIA Agent.” “So you know about what happened?” “My department works close with the FBI’s lead kidnapping detectives.” Marlena was friends with more than half of the FBI kidnapping department since her father had worked in that area since he graduated the academy before she was born. “ ‘Your’ department?” “Yes, my department…not that I have my own department…but I think you know what I mean.” “I believe I do.” “And from what I’ve heard…or read…is that your business…Chandler Enterprises…is under the knife.”

“You really have all the information on everyone here in Pine Valley…” “Mostly, I read up on things going on that would be of value to where I move.” Dorian was asleep in JR’s arms when they reached the front door and went inside; the head maid told ‘em that lunch was being served on the back porch. Marlena took Dorian from JR as she followed him towards the back; Dorian shifted and yawned as he slowly woke up and nuzzled his momma’s neck. Lil Adam was in his playpen and made grabby hands as he saw his father walk out into the back porch, Marlena chuckled and sat down on one of the two couches with Dorian in her lap. Dorian quietly watched JR and lil Adam as they sat down across from them and looked up at his momma, then buried his face in her chest. “I think Dorian is just a bit people shy…” Marlena watched as Dorian made a small attempt to grab a piece of fruit and she handed it to him. “You’re not hungry?” “Who me? I can run on empty until around 3 AM…” She was used to that; especially with how she’d be very active after she began working again. “Are you serious?” “I’m used to just a pot of coffee and toast most days…that’s the agent in me I suppose. Hard habit to kill…” Marlena sighed as Dorian climbed down from the couch and crawled over to JR and sat by his feet. ‘Also another one…not thinking about Jason…’ Marlena quietly sat back as Adam walked over and offered Dorian a toy of his to play with, Dorian gladly accepted and played happily with lil Adam. Marlena chuckled deeply, “Now that is just too cute…I think Dorian has found himself a playmate.” JR watched quietly as Dorian and Adam played together for the time being, just then Marlena’s cell phone began to ring. “If you’ll excuse me for one minute please…” Marlena stood up and moved over away from where she had been sitting, only to return a few minutes later and sat back down. “Who was that?” “The nanny service I called…they’re sending someone over tomorrow for an interview.”

I didn’t mention at this point that it was the same service that ‘Dinah Cole’ aka Dixie Martin had come from, I do very well with research on everyone that lives near me. Past, Present, and preening future included…this even adds in that girl named ‘Amanda Dillon’. Dorian crawled over to me as I sat back down and I picked him up to set him in my lap. “I think we should be going…it’s almost time for his nap. Thank you for lunch.” Settling Dorian on my hip as I stood up and moved to leave, Marlena blinked as JR stood up. “There something you want to say?” She waited quietly as Dorian began to fall asleep in her arms. JR just shook his head as the Butler showed Marlena out; Marlena just chuckled as she returned home to put Dorian to bed. She sighed and went downstairs; the Butler saw her with such a dismal look on her face and walked over. “Is there something you want ma’am?” “A cup of tea and a sandwich if you please…” “Yes ma’am, I shall bring it up to your room.” “Thank you Pierce.” “You’re welcome Ma’am.” Marlena smiled and went upstairs where the head maid had just turned down her covers. “Shall I draw you a bath Ma’am?” “Oh yes thank you…and could you please check in on my son for me? I don’t know if I turned the baby monitor on or not.” “I shall ma’am.” Marlena sat down on her bed and leaned back against the pillows; Pierce soon came in with her tray and then left. Jusi, the head maid, returned with the baby monitor that was turned on…she had left after drawing the bath. “Here you are ma’am. Is there anything else you require?” “No, thank you Jusi. You may go home now, have a good night.” “I shall ma’am, thank you.” Jusi left as Marlena went to go and take her bath. The large home was quiet once all the staff had left to go home for the night, around 11:45 PM the doorbell rang. In her black robe, Marlena moved down the stairs towards the front door with the baby monitor in her hand. “Jesus, who would come over at this hour…” She leaned against the front door and looked out the peep-hole and blinked as she saw JR standing there, she unlocked the door and opened it. “Does everyone in this town walk around in the middle of the night? No one’s ever heard of that nasty term called ‘mugging’?”

“We’ve heard of it but it’s rare for it to happen around here.” “‘Here’ being this part of town…am I correct?” “May I come in?” “Little late to be making house calls…isn’t it?” She stepped back from the door and let him, shutting the door after he entered the house. “Depends on what you define as a house call.” “As I remember it…it was something doctors did…for patients who were to sick to get out of bed.” “That’s true.” JR sat down in the living room; which was dark so she turned on the over-head light. She moved to sit down in a chair across from him and crossed her legs, she was nude under her robe but it was her home and she was just fine that way. “Aren’t you cold?” “Are you assuming I’m naked under this? I am but whether or not I’m cold is none of your business.” She leaned back in the chair and thought on something that made her think of Jason for a minute or two. “So you admit that you’re naked under that robe.” “Yes well who isn’t after they’ve taken a bath and decided not to get into any clothes…?” Marlena smirked as he didn’t reply, “So you have yet to tell me why you’re here JR…I have a nudging feeling it’s not to discuss whether or not I’m nude under my robe.” “Maybe it was.” Marlena raised a brow and slowly got up, “I think it’s time you left.” The robe trailed behind her as she walked towards the front door and opened it. “Goodnight JR.” “Goodnight Marlena.” She smirked as she left the door a smidge open and dropped her robe in the opening, JR was of course watching as she shut the door fully and locked it. “That was naughty.” Marlena quoted Sean Connery as Alan Quartermaine in ‘The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen’, British accent and all. She put her robe back on and turned off the over-head light in the living room and returned upstairs. She was up at 8 AM and got dressed for the day; the nanny arrived around 11 AM and was hired since she had a rather long and excellent history with children. Marlena gave her the schedule that Dorian followed and handed her the baby monitor, the room right next to Dorian’s was for the nanny. “Now I have to get in shape for the re-entry exam the CIA holds in September. I better call to get a spot…they fill up fast.” She picked up the phone in her office/study and dialed directly to one of her supervisor’s desk. She got a spot in the exam and had zip time to lose.

Hiring a personal instructor was a spur-of-the-moment for her; it would take her a matter of time to lose the load she needed to go back to what she had been previous to. One afternoon while she was in her backyard watching Dorian chase geese in the grass, she saw JR walking over with Adam. She looked towards Jusi who had just come outside with lunch. “Jusi could you please ask cook to prepare two more dishes? Just in case?” “Yes ma’am.” “Thank you.”  Anna the nanny brought Dorian over and sat him down in his chair and went to go have a lunch with the staff. “Hello JR, Adam the third…what brings you over here?” “Adam wanted to see how Dorian was?” Jusi then appeared with the additional food Marlena had asked about. “Would Adam and you care to stay for lunch? It’s just chicken salad sandwiches...and orange juice.” JR nodded and sat down, Lil Adam as much as he wanted and then went to play in the sandbox with Dorian. “I’m thinking about getting Dorian a puppy…he’ll require something to stay him busy while I’m working.” “You’re going back to work?” “Starting September 4th, I’ll be in Washington D.C. for a week.” “What for?” “The CIA re-entry exam...when an agent has been out of the field/work for to long they’re required by the CIA by-laws to take the re-entry exam.” “He’ll have my son to keep him company as well.” “Of course except that does only immediately pertain if you have the moment to drop by to agree to have them engage in recreation or something.” “Do you know when you’ll be home?” “It’d be safe to say for a while after subsequent to midnight the day of the concluding division of the assessment.” Marlena was exceptionally smart which is one of the reasons that she was a CIA representative. “I a have inquiry for you JR and you acquire two answers to this one.” “Which is…?” “Well essentially it’s two questions…One are you busy this nightfall? And two…do you really wish to uncover if I get frosty in just my bath robe?” “Allow me to reflect with reference to those answers...”

“No I’m not busy and yes I do really wish to uncover that.” “What point ought I to be expecting you…? Does 9:30 PM work for you?” “I’ll be here…with bells on.” “Oh that’s funny JR, very funny.” She smiled as Anna brought Dorian over and told Marlena she was putting him down for his nap, after lunch JR returned to the Chandler mansion for the time being. “Madam?” “Yes Pierce?” “Cook wants to know what point in time she should organize dinner.” “Around 8:45 PM please and I’d like for all of you to go home at that point.” “I’ll alert the personnel instantaneously madam.” “Thank you very much Pierce.” Dinner was prepared when she had asked and the very last individual to leave the residence was the chef. Dorian had gone to sleep and Anna had locked herself in her room and was not to come out at the smallest amount of noise. JR arrived at 9:30 PM like she had asked him to; she quietly answered the door and let him inside. “Shall we depart upstairs?” “You don’t fritter away anytime…do you?” “Whilst I consider it…no no I don’t.” She grinned and leisurely sauntered up the flight of stairs, shutting the lights off at the top of them with a short giggle. JR hastily followed her taking the steps two at a time; he was moments following her as she curved the crook into her bedroom. The area was softly lit with black and red candles (which are her individually desired kind.); she stopped at the entrance to the bathroom and smirked delicately towards him. “Wait here, I’ll be back in a single minute.” “All right.” JR sat down on her bed as he waited for her to return, Marlena removed her attire and slipped into her dressing gown (or robe) and stopped to gaze in the mirror before her exit. “Jason…forgive me…but you’re no longer around me…and I shed tears on how this would have harmed you if it was destined to be for us.” She clicked the lights off and left the bathroom and stood diagonally from JR as he looked towards her. “At the present time the inquiry is…am I icy or not right now?” “Are you?” She smiled softly and shifted against the wall, “Maybe I am and maybe I am not…you’re going to have to hit upon that physically.” JR stood up and walked over to where she was and without due consideration pressed his body beside hers. “Not yet I can’t.” “Maybe you should make an effort by means of using your hands instead.”

JR just smiled and stirred some when she said that, his hands moved down on her robe and stopped at the two buttons previous to her hips. His eyes didn’t leave hers as he slowly undid the buttons and slid one hand inside the robe, which caused her to curve closer to his hand as it began touching her. His free arm wrapped around her backside as his hand continued to stroke her slowly but surely. “No, you’re incredibly hot according to my hand.” “Be that as it may…are you positive the rest of my body isn’t freezing?” JR grinned at her and lifted her in his arms; carrying her towards the bed and laid her down on top of it. Climbing over her; he smirked some more, “There’s only one way to be certain of that.” So that night, Marlena had sex with JR by candlelight; no one bothered them the next morning while they were sleeping. Adam (SR) Chandler was perplexed when JR came home sometime later in the afternoon and went to change his clothes. Marlena got dressed and went straight to her office/study where the books she would have to study for the re-entry exam. JR was having lunch with Kendell who was surprised when he was a bit glowly and in good spirits. “What’s got you in such a good mood, JR?” “I landed a deal with someone.” “Oh? Dare I ask who?” “My neighbor.” “You mean the one who’s living in the Huffinton place?” “Yes, she’s the great-granddaughter of the woman who owned the place.” Seems Kendell wasn’t the only girl who JR had gotten his hooks into, but Marlena wasn’t settled on picking on someone who she wanted. Her heart was still somewhat attached to Jason because they had a child together. Marlena had taken a break from studying her work to go and play with her son, Jusi brought them lunch up on the veranda of her office/study. No one dared to ask her how her night went, not even the nanny who could imagine that she had a hell of a superior time.

Chapter Three.

(Skipping Ahead is the writer’s/author’s choice and that is what I am doing. It is now September 3rd.)

Marlena had all her bags packed and the staff had their orders on what to do incase anything should happen while she was away. Emily and Nikolas were coming out to ‘watch’ the house while she was gone for the week. She was staying overnight in the hotel inside of the airport so she wouldn’t miss her 7 AM flight to Washington. She kissed Dorian on the forehead and smiled, “I will be back as soon as I can sweetie. You be good for Auntie Emily and Uncle Nikolas, you hear me?” Dorian gave a squeal of delight and hugged her ‘baby style’ as Emily held him. “Thank you so much again guys. It’s hard to find house-sitter’s in a place you just moved to.” “It’s no problem Marlena; you just go and kick some butt.” “Thanks Emily.” Marlena waved goodbye as she drove off towards the airport and checked into the hotel and went towards her room. The next day came quick and she was up at 4:54 AM and out of the room early for security check and the like in the airport, she was at her terminal around 6:25 AM. Boarding began at 6:45 and they were in the air at 7:05 AM, she landed in Washington hours later and went right to the orientation which was two hours after she had arrived in town. The exam was nothing she had by no means come across before it dealt with: Hostage Situations, Gunfire (in field, in building), and tactical maneuver, wet & dry demolition, etc cetera. They also had special written tests for the certain field you were going into. She was the only one who was in the Task Force Unit and passed the test; they used the T.F.U’s jet to fly her home when the exam was over.

10:36:49 AM; is what her watch read as she pulled up in the driveway and parked her car. Pierce took her bags and brought them upstairs to have them sorted and brought to laundry. Jusi brought her something to eat as Emily and Nikolas greeted her when she returned. “Did you pass?” Marlena held up her badge, “What do you think?” Emily hugged her and she chuckled, “I start work...well…for the division out here on Monday morning.” It was Friday when she had returned; Dorian squealed when Anna brought him to see her and clung to her. “Madam, you have a visitor.” Marlena turned around to see Pierce standing there. “I do? Whom is it Pierce?” “Mr. Chandler?” She raised a brow as she held Dorian; Emily and Nikolas left to pack. “Let him in.” “Yes madam.” JR entered the living room; lucky to her mistake she thought it was Adam (SR) instead who came to bother her. “Hello JR, what brings you here?” “I saw your car pull up as I was leaving the house. So you’re home.” “Yes, I am…well…for the time being anyway.” “What do you mean?” “I start work on Monday; if you can call what I do work…at least they’re letting me stay home all day like most senior officers do.” “As opposed to..?” “Working the field everyday, but my selected field for where I am is different all the time. Now I’m active when they call me…well…I’m active just ‘behind the scenes’ as it were.” She waved goodbye to Emily and Nikolas as they left and returned Dorian to the arms of Anna for his nap. “Were you expecting not to see me when I got home? If I was back in New Jersey that would have been the idea, since there the field is more active.” JR just smiled, “That’s good to know.”

Over the next few days, the weatherman on the TV had said they were going to have a thunderstorm and Marlena grinned. On the day of the storm, Marlena had Anna keep watch over Dorian as she locked herself in her office. Emily hadn’t told Marlena that Jason was coming out to visit her and he was on his way (in a taxicab) to her house. JR was returning from being out and was getting soaked just as he saw Marlena step out onto the veranda from her office in her bra and panties. She looked over and winked at JR and went back inside and pulled her robe on. Jusi stopped her in the hallway adjacent from her office/study to tell her that two men were in the living room. “Thank you Jusi.” Jason and JR sat quietly in front of the roaring fire that Pierce had turned on to keep them warm. Marlena came downstairs in her bathrobe and was drying her hair with towel when she stopped at the landing of the stairway. “Hello boys.” She handed the towel to one of the maids to have cleaned; she was still a little damp. “JR this is Jason Morgan my childhood friend and Dorian’s father. Jason this is Adam (JR) Chandler my next door neighbor. Now then, Jason what are you doing here?” She would wait on asking JR that after Jason spoke. “Emily must have forgotten to tell you but I told her I had planned to come out and see you.” She nodded then told one of the maids to have a room made up for Mr. Morgan and then turned to JR, “I’m going to take a guess on this one. Outside am I right?” JR just nodded with a smile on his face. “What can I say? I love the rain.” Jason knew that; he followed Jusi upstairs as he was led to his room. Anna came down the hall with Dorian who squealed and reached out for Jason when he saw him, Anna handed him over to Jason and went back to what she had been doing earlier.

“So, he’s Dorian’s father?” “Yes and he works for a coffee exporter/importer in Port Charles. I grew up next door to him...and his sister Emily.” Marlena and JR had gone upstairs to her office/study for the time being. “Do you still love him?” “Hard to say actually…I never really stopped…it’s just very difficult for us.” Jason had been walk by with Dorian in his arms and stopped outside of the office to listen. “Why’s that?” “His boss and I don’t get along…also add in the fact that he had someone when I came back into town.” Marlena sat on the couch next to JR and curled up; she was in a towel now but still drying off. “Okay, I think I’m going to go to bed now.” She stood up and Jason zipped past the office/study to the room he was staying in. JR grinned, “Do you want any company?” She smirked, “Sure…but you’re going to have to wait for a few minutes. I need a warm shower.” “Fine by me.” He followed her upstairs and shut her bedroom door behind them. “I’ll be back in five minutes.” She grabbed something from her chest of drawers and went into the bathroom to freshen up. Dressed in a baby-doll T-shirt (black) and box-cut panties (lace); she smelled of Jasmine and Rose as she climbed into bed. “You feel any better?” She grinned at his question and yanked him down to her level; she first nipped his bottom lip and kissed him deeply. She had no problem being caught with JR…that was only if Jason walked in on them. It wasn’t that she was trying to make him jealous or anything; she needed to somehow show herself there were other men out there that weren’t Jason Morgan. JR was still asleep when she woke up the next morning; Jusi brought their breakfast into the room and had told her that Jason had brought Dorian to the park for a few hours. JR had invited her over the Chandler house while everyone else was out doing whatever when Amanda stopped by while JR was upstairs. Marlena raised a brow, “So you must be Amanda…” “Yeah and you are?” “Your worst nightmare, I’m a Central Intelligence Agent and I know what you and JR are up to. Now you can tell him when he comes back down that I threatened you but I could do one worse…I could flip a judge over and have you hauled off for a list of fake crimes and none the less produce a shit-load of witnesses. I am an idol when it comes to shit like that and I can work my fingers until they break from everything I can hold against you. Petty lies will get you nowhere and CIA lies will bring your ass down.”

Amanda quietly left the house; Marlena smirked because she was yanking the poor girl’s chain. Amanda may want JR and JR may want Babe away from Jamie…but Dixie had sworn she’d leave if he didn’t make the ‘family’ work. JR came back downstairs to show me around the house and Marlena met Dixie when he was called downstairs, “Dixie? May I call you Dixie?” “Sure.” “I know we weren’t properly introduced, my name is Marlena Huffinton and I live next door.” She held out for Dixie to shake. “Yeah, Adam (SR) has talked about you…not a lot but some.” “I don’t let many know things about me…a CIA agent’s life is confidential once they are enlisted.” “He did say you were a CIA agent and I don’t blame you for not liking him…he’s very…” “Evil? A pain in the ass? Yes he is but he doesn’t run me…and I can do what I fancy.” JR returned and she continued to follow him around the house and went home before dinner. Dorian and Jason had come back before she did; Jason stopped in the entrance way of her office/study and she looked up. “Yes Jason?” “I need to ask you something Marlena.” “All right then…come on in.” Jason stepped inside her office/study and shut the door behind him. “What’s the question…or is there more than one?” “There’s more than one…possibly.” “Okay then.” She sat back in her chair as she waited for him to ask her. “What is he to you?” “He…You mean JR? If I knew the answer to that one Jason I would tell you.” “That answer works for me. Next question…Do you still love me?” That question set Marlena back and she tried to figure it out…but her silence hurt her; then she spoke. “I know I used to but I can’t anymore…living in the ‘what could have been’ (or past) is not healthy and I’m doing my hardest to move on.” Jason just nodded, “I’m going to tell Dorian I love him and then go back to Port Charles.” He left the office/study and she was silent; she was guessing that she had just picked JR over Jason…but at the moment she didn’t even really know if she even had JR…he had Kendell…and vice-versa since she really wasn’t married to Zach Slater. She watched him leave and slumped in her chair; Pierce came in with a serving of food for her before everybody left for home. Leaving the tray; she went upstairs to the third floor and began to look at all the guest accommodations; her mind was made up.

The next morning the movers came to take everything and she went about ordering new furniture and the like for all the rooms. “It’s my outlet…for letting go finally…new furniture Great-Grandma Grace…means a new start. I’ll change the entire house around…paint and wallpaper even. I’ll use the ideas I had as a kid when I visited her when I was a small child. You’d be proud of me…I know I am.” The graveyard for the Huffinton family who used to live in the house was in the backyard; it was a private one. She walked back inside the house and closed the terrace doors behind her. “Pierce, Jusi I need to speak with you please.” They both hurried into the living room. “I want everyone to stay home for the next few days…I’m going to be painting and wallpapering…and I may call for people to help me…I’ll have the agency call you when I am done.” The staff left as per her request and she had done what she said she would…the furniture arrived soon after she was finished and the movers put everything in the rooms the way she wanted it. The staff was back the next morning as she was out at the store buying new everything for the beds and the like. After taking her shower she sat down in her bedroom and lit some of the new candles that sat along the bay window, and the music in the background was Gavin DeGraw(from Chariot: Stripped) was ‘Belief’. She was softly muttering the words along with the music and closed her eyes; Jusi came in and stood there quietly. “Yes Jusi?” “Madam, Mr. JR is here to see you.” “Send him up…thank you Jusi.” Jusi nodded and left; JR entered the room a few minutes later and sat down in the wingback chair as he watched her. “Marlena…are you all right?” “Never better…I’m just very lost on what I am right now. I don’t even think I know who I am anymore.”

She sighed as she ran a hand through her hair and leaned against the wall in the window. “What do you mean?” “Ever feel like you no longer knew who you were in some aspect? Like your life at some point had meaning that suddenly stopped one day?” JR was stunned in silence at what she was saying and then thought about it before he answered her. “Somedays…I wonder if the hand I was dealt was meant for me…like God had messed up and won’t re-shuffle the deck for me.” She laughed at that and just shook her head, “God never re-shuffle’s the deck for anyone…he puts the cards the way he wants them and then has you decide how your deal shall be dealt with.” She pulled the pack of cigarettes (Turkish Silver) from her breast pocket and lit it by use of the candle flame; then opened the window to blow the smoke out. “It is said that in Japan…when someone dies in extreme sorrow or rage…a curse is left behind. It never forgives and it never forgets. To quote from ‘The Grudge’.” JR listened to her and moved to rest his hands on her shoulders; she placed one hand on his and sighed. “JR…I need you to answer me honestly…and I’ll know if you’re lying to me…” That wasn’t very hard for her; most knew when someone’s pupils were dilated and breathing was erratic…they were lying. “…What am I to you…?” JR found it very difficult to answer her, “I would give you an answer now…but I don’t know what to tell you.” She just nodded as she blew smoke out, “Then do me a favor…when you know…come and tell me.” ‘Because hopefully by then I’ll know what I’m doing…or I’m doomed.’  She quietly contemplated to herself. JR nodded and rested his chin on her left shoulder, “Want to go out for dinner?” “Yeah…all right.” Taking his hand, Marlena went to dinner with him and they stopped at a Video Rental place. She had been complaining how much she wanted to see ‘Se7en’ and ‘Fight Club’ again; so he went and rented them.  They watched them back at the Chandler mansion; she was silent during both movies but was none the less curled against him in the shadowy darkness. Now she was slumbering when the credits for ‘Se7en’ began to scroll by and JR turned the tube off and pulled the blankets over them both.

Chapter Four.

(Three and a half weeks later.)

Marlena had gone to put the mail out and stopped when she saw a girl who had short curly hair (brunette) whom was dressed in a green halter dress. “Are you Marlena Huffinton?” “Yes, I am…and you are?” “Kendell Slater.” Truthfully her name is Kendell Hart because Erica Kane who is her mother…this daughter had a different father. “I see…how can I help you?” “I need to talk to you about JR.” “I – okay then…come on in.” She headed back towards the house and headed upstairs to her office/study. “Have a seat.” Marlena sat down and sifted through the bills to write out the needed checks and mail them back out. “So, you want to talk about JR…is there a problem?” “He can’t seem to figure out what you want him to tell you.” “If you mean about the question I asked him…all’s he has to tell me is what he knows about me…not what he’s heard but what he knows about me. Maybe I should make you a list so that his answer would sound more profound to me.” “You’re kidding me…aren’t you?” She just sat back, arms crossing her upper body. “No…I guess not.” Kendell got up and left; Marlena just shook her head. “Someone’s got to do your work...goat herder.” After putting the checks with the bills they needed to be with, she put them back in the mailbox. She decided to go in the back yard and play with Dorian who went back inside a few hours later for dinner, his bath, and bed. She sat in the chair on her back porch and ran her fingers through her hair. “Marlena...” She looked up to see JR standing there and lightly smiled. “Yes JR?” “I know what you mean to me…even if I have a grudge against my former wife and step-brother…Kendell and I am lovers/friends…the only thing I seem to actually understand what I do with you...” She raised a brow, “I’m still listening...” “You actually make me understand what the hell I’m doing these days…with my life…just about everything. I can’t seem to know what I’m thinking when I’m around you but it just works for me somehow…it fits.”

She sat back and then stood up, “Then we both know what we’re doing and don’t need to answer to anyone who asks anymore.” She started to make sense to herself, this was it and she couldn’t step back to what she thought she wanted. She had selected JR over Jason…not that she’d move in with JR or something…for now it was what it was. JR nodded and pulled her close, his hand ran alongside the back of her neckline as he pulled her into an intense kiss. She yanked him by the shirt into the house and up to her bedroom; there was no turning back now from what was about to go on. Sure they had made love more than once but it was going to be different for them both…don’t ask her why or how but it just would be. Marlena even felt different after they were done; curling up against him she pushed the hair out of her face. She had been thinking about telling JR what she knew in relation to the bargain he had with Amanda and/or the things she had told her that day she had come over. ‘That would be a bad idea…especially since my superiors agree that I should follow this…since it’s a personal vendetta that JR is waging against Babe and Jamie…but what Dixie had told him was a basic ultimatum. I can’t compete with that…not in the slightest bit.’ She shut her eyes and rested her head against his chest as he ran his hands throughout her brunette locks. She smirked and shifted against him; JR blinked. “What?” “You’ll see…come on.” She grabbed him by the hand and ran down the stairs in just a towel and out the back door. Marlena had a Jacuzzi in her back yard and ran for it, grinning as she ran. “Out here?” “Yes...why are you frightened of being caught? It won’t bite…and neither will I.” She winked as she let the towel drop and climbed in once she uncovered the Jacuzzi; he stepped in after her (he had been wearing his robe) and she straddled his lap.

The Jacuzzi kept them warm in the cool night air and he wouldn’t be as uncomfortable since the Jacuzzi had jet-streams for the upper and lower back. She had certainly shocked him with this spur of the moment scheme. Jason would have done that with her…if she could sweet-talk him into it…and that all depended on if he was still with Sam or not. Sadly, Jason was with Sam and Marlena was now with JR…and she wouldn’t apologize for anything she did at the moment. She was making herself be prominent in some way now…she knew it and was blissful about it. At ‘work’ the next day; Marlena was silent for the first time in her life because she was that delightful about something in her life. Although, there was something still nudging and tugging at her that made her think differently about what she felt…she needed help to sort it out. The registered CIA psychiatrist was the only person she trusted since they had been best friends during academy training. When she got home, Dorian and his nanny were in the lounge and she just spent time with her son before deciding if she was going to call the woman or not. After dinner, she sat in her bedroom watching the night sky as the stars lit it up. Except now she knew from reading more files at work that ‘Dixie’ was ‘Di Kirby’ an ex-con who was working with David to formulate a plan to get Babe more time with Lil Adam…and that Dixie had invited everyone to the Family Fourth Of July Picnic. “This whole world could fall apart and JR would still want to be standing next to his mother instead of his dad (Adam SR). It will come crashing down around him…that will be there for him when the dust settles.”

She climbed into bed; it was figuratively tainted with what she had turned into and lost. The next morning she’d call the people who’d clean out her Jacuzzi; she gave the staff the fourth off so she’d be by herself (minus Anna and Dorian) in the mansion. Monday came around and she stayed inside; Anna had Dorian outside for a few hours before midday and brought him back inside to watch some educational TV as she made his lunch. There was a loud knocking on the front door; Marlena came down the stairs and towards the front door. “What is it?” “Don’t you mean ‘who’ Ms. Huffinton?” “For crying out…” She groaned as she opened the front door, “What do you want Adam (SR)?” “JR sent me over for whatever reason I don’t know why he wants you over with us.” She rose a brow at him and crossed her arms, “I’m sorry but I’m going to have to gracefully decline that invitation. I don’t need a reason to say no…you’re the only reason I wouldn’t show up. You make my skin crawl Mr. Chandler (Adam SR.) and I’d rather die than be around you.” She quietly closed the door and locked it, then began to stroll towards the kitchen to make her something for lunch. She growled as there was a thunderous knock on her front door, moving from the kitchen back to the front door. “What is it?” “Marlena, come on…open up.” It was JR; she knew that voice like the back of her hand. Groaning some; she unlocked the front door and opened it up. JR stepped inside and gripped her to him, “Why won’t you come?” “JR…I’m just not in the mood to be around all those people I barely even know…I think that should be understandable.” All except for Dixie (or Di Kirby); Marlena only knew two other people over there and was unfamiliar with the rest…and she can’t base how I feel about others by just reading their files at work.

JR let go of her and just nodded, “Fine by me. I’ll come by later.” She just nodded and shut the door after he left. Anna came downstairs and asked if she could take Dorian to the park for a while, Marlena allowed it as she had “work” to do. Once they were gone; Marlena went upstairs and closed all of the bedroom doors and sifted through her CD collection for ‘A Goofy Movie’ (© Disney) Soundtrack. The voice of Tevin Campbell boomed through the large manor as he sang ‘Stand Out’ who he did the voice of Powerline for the film. The music echoed all the way through the temporarily empty abode as she was back downstairs in the kitchen actually eating her lunch. Anna returned a few hours later to feed Dorian dinner; Marlena took him from her to give him a bath and put him to bed. She sat on the lounge couch with her solid black laptop on a small table in front of her as she was reviewing something her superiors had sent her earlier that morning. There was a knocking on her front entrance and she got up to answer it, but logged out of her CIA files that were strictly ‘confidential’.  She trudged towards the door and carefully opened it; she was very tired for no reason. “Hey, can I come in?” Again, it was JR and she let him inside.  “You look dead tired…is anything wrong?” She shrugged and feebly shut the door behind him; he groaned and carried her upstairs. She curled on top of her bed as JR sat down beside her; she kind of clung on to the sheets like she was in pain. Something was wrong or at least that’s what she believed; but she just laid there quiet for a while despite the fact that JR was next to her.

She slowly sat up and climbed into his lap for a short time; his arms stayed wrapped around her incase she fell asleep in his lap. She did fall asleep in his lap and he placed her under the bedcovers, with his arms wrapped around her waist and his chin soothingly buried amid the back of her left ear and her neckline he was reasonably at ease. During the night; something began to rouse in her that made her come around. JR was asleep beside her and she skewed her head to the side somewhat and climbed over him lightly. ‘He sleeps like a baby…as where Jason rarely could.’  He shifted under her and she slid back beside him, resting her head on his shoulder and closing her eyes to try and fall asleep again. The phone beside her bed woke her up at 5:30 AM and she picked it up, “Hello?” “Marlena? It’s Sam…I need to talk to you.” ‘Arg! For once in my life can’t it NOT involve Jason!’ She sat up more as she complained to herself, JR was up minutes later and she leaned against him. “Go ahead Sam…I’m listening.” “I can’t find Jason…he never cam home after he came to visit you…not even Carly or Sonny know where he is.” “I don’t know what you think by calling me…I can’t help you Sam…maybe you should try finding him yourself.” “Are you sure? I mean I don’t know who else I could ask…” “Well not me…because I don’t live in Port Charles and my arms only stretch for Pine Valley now.” Sam sighed and just nodded, “Thanks anyway.” “Yep, you’re welcome…goodbye.” Marlena hung up and curled against JR, “Do I have to get up yet?” “Not if you don’t want to…” “Good…because I don’t want to just yet.” JR grinned and tugged her back down with him, “Good then…we’ll keep busy for the time being.” He grinned and once more; they went at it again…by now Babe had half exposed Di to Adam(SR) and it was a trade-off to get Krystal out of the big-house.

Later that afternoon is when she got a rather bad phone call from Carly, “Thanks Carly…I’ll be out as soon as I can.” Hanging up the phone, Marlena ran her hands over her face and sighed. “Just what I need…a nuisance named Jason in the hospital.” Slumping into her office chair, she looked outside in her yard to where Dorian was playing in his sandbox. “You know what? No…not this time.” She picked up the phone and called Carly back, “Hey Carly its Marlena. Listen I’ve changed my mind and I’m not coming out after all. Bye.” She hung up and sat back once more in her chair, “Times like this…call for Josh Groban.” She smiled and moved over to her sound system and gently slid the silver disk into place and pressed ‘play’. The soothing and very calming voice that belonged to the man (not boy) named Josh Groban who so many loved sang over the speakers throughout the large abode. The song that began to play (because she selected ‘random select’ as program) was called Canto Alla Vita and it featured another band she loved, The Corrs.

Chapter Five.

(Given the ideal circumstances of the show ~~ this story is now no longer

“going with that flow” so it’s taking a turn of its own.)

It had been a few months and Dorian had begun to walk and talk on his own, able to ask Anna to get him certain things he wanted. Marlena stayed home to work (which her supervisor’s didn’t mind at all since it had become very quiet in Pine Valley.) which had become very meek to her. Carly hadn’t called her since she decided not to come see Jason in the hospital, but Emily was coming to visit in a week or two. Jusi had prepared the guest room closest to Marlena’s room for Emily’s arrival. The cook, Jacob was making planning special meals for that entire week at Marlena’s request. JR had been a tad busy with everything that had been going on/found out by everyone. It was a dangerous disaster that had happened; even more so she wasn’t in any hurry to try and say something to make JR even madder at her for no reason at all. The night before Emily’s arrival; Marlena went out and rented some movies (Fight Club, Troy, Se7en, Chocolat, Wrong Turn, The Grudge, and Hide & Seek.) for them to watch while she was there. Emily was silent while they were watching Chocolat; Marlena watched her and sat up. “Okay Emily you are never this silent…what’s going on?” “I don’t know how to say this to you Marlena…but I’m worried that you’re losing who you once were…” “Is this because I wouldn’t go see Jason in the hospital? Damn it Emily! I’m a grown woman who can make her own decisions and not need to answer to anyone!” She stood up, the anger flowing through her. “I am trying very hard to move past what Jason and I had in the past.” The flames of anger and rage danced in her eyes like hell; she had to leave the house before she did/or said something to make Emily scared.

But more than likely she might take someone’s head off anyway; because now Dixie and Tad were going to be lil Adam’s godparents...Erica Montgomery’s family didn’t want to be on the premiere show of her series, ‘New Beginnings’. “I’m out of here…don’t come looking for me…it would be in your best interest.” Emily frowned as Marlena left the room and she heard the front door slam shut. Marlena sat on her front step and pulled the pack of cigarettes from her back pocket and lit one. Dixie was walking over and sat down beside her, “Hi Marlena…are you all right? You seem a little angry.” “A little? That’s far from it Dixie…I’m in hell.” “May I ask why? Did something happen? Are you all right?” “I’d be perfectly fine…if everyone in Port Charles…didn’t think I should be who I used to be.” “Which was?” “Someone who was always there for a certain person…I’d be there now…but I’m trying to change.” “And they don’t like it.” “No…no they don’t but I’m not letting them stop me. Ever.” “Don’t let them Marlena, I think you’re perfect the way you are.” “Thank…thank you Dixie. Which brings me to a question, what are you doing here?” “I came to see if you’d want to come to a ceremony.” The smoke slid out of Marlena’s nose, “Ceremony?” “For the daughter Tad and I lost…Katie would have been JR and Jamie’s little sister.” “Hmmm…all right then Dixie. I’ll come.” Dixie smiled, “Thank you so much…I’m so happy you’re here Marlena. Well…I should say I’m not the only one.” “Beg Pardon?” That had caught Marlena off guard. “You don’t know? JR’s happy to have you around as well…I know he has a hard time showing it with everything that has happened…but he is.” This would not have been the first time Marlena had known a man who had trouble displaying how he felt. “Thanks Dixie…I believe you when you tell me that.” “You do?” “Yeah…I’ve known other men who have problems displaying certain emotions when they’ve been shut down from it for sometime.” It was like a railroad spike through JR’s heart when Dixie had “died” and then Babe had that affair behind his back with Jamie…even more so Babe, Krystal, and David all led JR and Bianca to believe that they’re babies were dead.

“Well…I should get going before JR begins to worry about where I went.” Marlena chuckled, “Yes I can understand what you mean by that Dixie. He seems to be glued to you.” “He does, doesn’t he?” “You bet. You’re a great mom, Dixie. Don’t let anyone else say differently.” Dixie smiled at Marlena, “Thank you Marlena.” “Not a problem. Say hello to lil Adam for me…won’t you?” “What about his dad?” That was JR who had said that, she looked over towards the tall bushes that separated the two yards. “I’ll see you later Marlena.” “Yeah, goodnight Dixie.” Dixie walked off as JR walked towards Marlena and sat beside her. “Hi JR.” “What’s with you?” “It’s a long story…but I’ll tell you anyway. People from my hometown don’t like the fact that I’m changing…and I’m not stopping for anyone to get onboard unless they want to.” Emily was watching from the window in Dorian’s bedroom quietly; Dorian was asleep in his crib at the moment. JR nodded and wrapped his arm around her, “They’ll get over it.” “There’s only one person who I think won’t. My friend Carly…she doesn’t like rapid change too much…the rest of them can decide for themselves.” She squished the cigarette butt against the cement step and curled alongside him. “Want to go for a walk?” “A walk is a good idea…it may help clear my head some more.” “Come on.” JR walked away from the mansion with her; his arm wrapped around her waits as they walked. Marlena even knew about the deal Erica and JR had to break Kendell and Zach up…she had every right to tell them both but she would let the cards fall where they may. Marlena spotted Tad and looked at JR, “I’ll be back in a minute.” JR saw whom she had and just nodded, he leaned against a telephone pole as she walked over. “Mr. Martin?” “Yes?” “I’m Marlena Huffinton, Hi.” She extended her hand to him and he shook it. “I see you know JR.” “Yes, I do…the Chandlers are my neighbors.” Tad raised a brow, “You’re Grace Huffinton’s great-granddaughter.” “Yes, I am…I remember you because you would come over when I was about the height of your calf.” “I do remember that.” “Listen, I need to tell you something and it’s your choice as whether or not you say anything to the parties involved.” “Shoot.” “Erica Montgomery has a deal with JR to try and split Kendell and Zach up.” “How do you know that?”

“I’m a CIA agent Mr. Martin…I know everything in this town…” “Does JR know you know? Or Erica for that matter?” “No and I don’t want to make any enemies…so if you do tell them…you’re going to have to say you didn’t get my name.” Tad nodded, “That’s if I tell them.” “True enough…it was nice to see you again Mr. Martin. Oh and good luck on being lil Adam’s godfather.” Tad smiled and waved as Marlena headed back over towards JR. “What was that about?” “I was just saying hello…he used to come over when I was about so-high at my great-grandmother’s.” JR nodded and wrapped his arms around her and pulled her close to him. Jamie and Babe were walking by and Jamie spotted JR standing there with Marlena. Jamie raised a brow, “Babe…do you know who that woman is?” “No…why do you?” “That’s Grace Huffinton’s great-granddaughter…she lived next door to the Chandlers for years…my dad used to bring me over there when she’d visit.” “Where is she from?” “Somewhere in New York called Port Charles.” Marlena felt eyes on her and turned towards Babe and Jamie; she remembered Jamie from when she was little and rested her head against JR’s chest. She mouthed, “Hi Jamie “and Jamie just waved to her as Babe and he kept walking.  JR silently moved his hands up and under her shirt; Marlena just chuckled and shook her head. “Now then JR…if you wanted something you could have just asked.” JR smirked, “Surprises are always a good thing.” His hand leisurely roamed her upper body and groped none the less; Marlena just giggled and snuggled against him. Shifting against him, she pulled herself up so that her legs wrapped around his waist and softly wiggled her hips against his. JR groaned and closed his eyes, “Not here Marlena.” “Oh? And groping me doesn’t intecise me?” JR groaned more and pushed his hips against hers more as she just grinned then gently nibbled his lips softly. He carried her back towards the Huffinton manor (the door was still unlocked and Emily was in bed); while the two went at it for most of the night and into the morning and afternoon…she received an unexpected visitor. It was JR’s step-brother Jamie (Martin – Because Jamie’s father is Tad and his mother is Brooke English. Brooke was married to Adam SR at one point….and Tad was married to Dixie * their baby girl Kate was never born though…she would have been JR’s sister. *) and Jusi led him upstairs towards her bedroom.

JR was in the shower (Marlena had sent Pierce to go ask Dixie to give him a change of clothes for JR…Dixie didn’t ask why though.) as Marlena was picking up the clothes and set them in an empty chair as she pondered what to wear. She eyed a light red dress (it was a halter dress) and slowly pulled it on after getting on her bra and panties. That’s when Jusi showed Jamie in, Marlena raised a brow (at the same time…JR came out of the bathroom with the towel around him). “Wow…this is a shocker.” Marlena said quietly as she went to stand in front of JR. “I didn’t expect you to just…drop by like this Jamie.” Her hand snuck behind her back and linked its way into one of JR’s. “You should have called…” “I guess I should have…and this was quite a surprise to me Marlena.” “How’s that?” Marlena looked up at JR and stayed where she was…between them. Emily and she were going to the museum in a few minutes…Pierce left JR’s clothes on her desk. “Well I would have thought Marlena would have better taste in men.” Marlena bit her lip, “Obviously you haven’t heard whom my son’s father is Jamie.” “Your son?” “Yes…I have a son Jamie. Dorian Jason Morgan…named after his father and my own…his father is a hit man for a mob boss back in Port Charles. Now if you’ll excuse me…I’m going to have to ask you both to leave. My friend Emily and I are going with Dorian to the museum for a few hours.” She snatched up her purse as she left her bedroom and saw Emily waiting for her at the end of the hall with Dorian in her arms. “Ready to go?” “Yes I am…let’s go.” Emily took her purse and let Marlena carry Dorian as they went to the garage and drove off into town for a few hours. When they got back JR and Jamie had left; Anna took Dorian to feed him and then get him for bed. “Emily…did you bring anything for a night out?” “Yeah I did…why?” “Go get ready…I’m going to leave a note on the door incase anyone drops by…” Marlena taped the note on the front door and the staff left after the girls headed out to the nearest dance club.

Emily giggled and watched Marlena let loose on the dance floor in the middle of the crowd as they danced to Sugar Ray’s Abracadabra. Marlena sat back down after she needed a breather and the waiter came to get her drink, “Apple Martini.” The waiter nodded and walked off to get her drink, Emily was sipping a soda. “Looks like you’re the driver tonight.” “Yes I am.” Emily smiled, “So you wanted to tell me a little about the people you knew in this town?” “Ah yes…where should I begin? Let’s start with the Martin family. Tad and Brooke English are the parents of Jamie Martin…who’s engaged to Babe Carey. Which to be exact…she’s JR’s ex-wife and lil Adam’s mommy. Now then JR’s mother is Dixie and his father is Adam Chandler SR. Dixie and Tad were married and should have had a baby girl but three years ago she was in a ‘car accident’ and is now back from the dead. Jamie is JR’s step-brother and they are not getting along because of things that have come down around them both over the past three years.” Emily blinked, “Damn…that’s a lot of history.” “That’s just the easy stuff…you want to talk difficult? Try the list of men Erica Kane…I’m sorry…Erica Montgomery has been married to and not to mention all the daughters, one son, and one son-in-law she has now.” “Jeez…and your great-grandmother knew all these people?” “So did I…and some I still do…which is strange because Adam SR and JR were a lot alike until Dixie sprang back up…she’s changed him a lot…” “You’d think by now he’d figure it out.” “No…JR’s attached to his mother…nothing will change it.” The waiter set her drink on a napkin and then spoke up, “Ma’am there is a gentleman at the bar who wishes to speak with you?” Marlena raised a brow and looked at the waiter, “Can you please point him out for me?” The waiter pointed towards JR and she smirked. “Tell the kind man I’m here with a friend and whatever he needs to tell me that it can wait.” “Yes ma’am.” “Thank you.” She waived the waiter off and dragged Emily off to the dance floor as the DJ began to play Show Me Love by Robyn. Emily asked someone to take picture of her and Marlena as they were having fun; the person was happy to oblige.

“I have a question for you Marlena.” “Yes Emily?” “If you had to stop a fight…whom would you stop it between?” “Why?” “You may have to…look.” Marlena looked over her shoulder as Jamie stepped in the door with Babe and JR spotted them. “I may have to…unless you can get home all right…this can be avoided easily.” “Emily hugged Marlena and went to leave meanwhile Marlena weaved her way through the crowd towards JR and climbed in his lap on the barstool. “Hey there…” “I thought you were with a friend?” “I was…she said I could come over and distract you for a while. Is it working?” JR grinned and rested his hands on her hips, “What do you think?” Marlena grinned and leaned against his chest then kissed him…and it wasn’t one of the run-of-the-mill kisses either. It was hot and heavy and heated; of course they had on-lookers and they both ignored them. Jamie and Babe had disappeared into the crowd thanks to Marlena distracting JR fully. She shifted as he hands fondled the silky material that her dress was made of. “What is this dress made of?” “The top or bottom half?” “Both.” She smirked, “Half silk and half satin.” “This must have been expensive.” “It was…but I have four others like it back at home.” He smirked and rubbed her waist gently; she grinned and nibbled on his earlobe just a tad. “JR…I have an itch that I can’t quite reach…could you scratch it for me?” “Depends on where it is.” She grinned and snuck one of his hands in-between her legs (under her panties); then buried her face in his neck (that way no one would hear her moaning). Babe had gone to get Jamie a drink and when she got back; Jamie had his eyes on JR and Marlena. “What the hell is he doing to her?” “From what I can see? I can’t say for sure but looks like he’s playing down south.” Jamie choked on his drink and Babe laughed. “Oh jeez Babe…did you have to say that?” “What? It’s true! She has her face buried in his shoulder to probably keep from others hearing her scream/moan.” Jamie groaned as she said that, “Babe!” “Sorry!” Babe giggled and leaned on Jamie.

Chapter Six.

(God knows for whatever REASON I let Jamie –walk- in on JR and Marlena after they had sex…but that was funny!)

JR had brought Marlena back to the Chandler Estate tonight (after the little game in the club anyway) it was a good idea. He locked his bedroom door so that he wouldn’t be disturbed at all by anyone or anything for any reason at all. JR made her shiver and squirm in ways unimaginable; she’d be very sore the next morning so JR drew her bubble-bath and slid her into the warm water. “I’ll have your dress ready by the time you get out.” “Thanks JR.” She closed her eyes and sank beneath the bubbles in the silence as she quietly sang Josh Groban’s Alla Luce Del Sole to herself. Stepping out of the tub with a towel draped around her; she used a blow-dryer to dry her hair and moved back into the bedroom to sit on the bed. JR returned with her dry-cleaned dress and watched her as she got back into it. “So will I see you later?” “You may…I have some business to take care of first.” She nodded and headed back home, it was Emily’s last day (her flight out was at 9:45 PM) so they spent the entire day together. Marlena brought Dorian with her as they went to the airport and said goodbye; Dorian gave Emily baby kisses before she went towards security check. Returning home, there was a car she had never seen in her driveway and got out. Anna took Dorian from her (to get him ready for bed) as Marlena changed her clothes while the staff went home. Out of the car came Sonny and he walked towards the door, “Wait here.” He told his men and Marlena raised a brow. “Mr. Corinthos…to what do I owe this visit?” “Please, call me Sonny…Sam, Myself, and Carly are a little worried.” “About who? Me?” “Somewhat…when you didn’t come out to see Jason…Sam began to think and even dragged Carly into thinking that you no longer care about Jason.” “Well…that’s a half-truth…I do still care about him but I can’t be expected to drop everything just to rush out there everytime something happens, Sonny. I live here now and I can’t be dragging myself back and forth between the past and the present.”

Sonny nodded, “All right…I just wanted to make sure it wasn’t something else that was making you act this way.” “Well…there is another reason…two actually…I don’t want my son’s life to ever be in danger…and I’m happy here…I actually found someplace I can just be me because of a well-set history between my great-grandmother and this town.” She leaned against the open-door frame but didn’t see JR coming in the back, “Does that satisfy your question Sonny?” “Fine by me…take care of yourself Marlena.” Marlena chuckled and closed the door after he left; that’s when JR slid his arms around her middle. She grinned and leaned against him, “Did you sneak in?” “Yes I did.” She snuggled up against him and smiled more; the status of their relationships was frozen in one spot but she didn’t even know anymore if she cared about what they are to each other. Was life ever this complicated with Jason? Did I ever not know where I stand with him? Yes…I did…when I left and when I came back.. JR left her after a few hours since he had a busy morning; so she went to shower and get into bed…which while she slept she had a very strange dream indeed. She saw three doors before her that were marked with three names: JR, Jason, or Jamie…which scared her. She looked down next to her and saw Dorian crawling towards the space in between JR and Jason’s doors. “No…this is just a dream…it isn’t real…and I can sing my way out of this one.” She quietly began to sway left and right as she started to sing Canto Alla Vita by Josh Groban [which featured Andrea Corr of The Corrs]. The doors began to spin in a small circle as she sang and she watched as Dorian hurried back over to her side. “This is some sort of test…to see if I made the right decision for myself…and I’d kill myself before trying to take Jamie from Babe…leave that idea to JR and Amanda.

Walking away will just make it worse…that’ll mean I can’t decide…and I don’t want the past…or at least I don’t want Jamie.” She looked towards the door with JR’s name on it; picking up Dorian she strided towards it and the doors slowly came to a stop. She stepped back from the door after she opened it; JR stepped out and pulled her close to him. The other two doors opened; Jason and Jamie both left the area as Marlena leaned against JR with her hand entangled with his as she watched them walk away. ‘I hope I know what I’m doing…no…you know what? I do know what I’m doing. I’ve made my final choice and its JR. No one else.’ She curled against her pillows as the gray-colored dream world faded and she woke up. She sat up and run a hand through her hair, “I assume this means that my final decision is coming up? I wouldn’t be surprised if they were all downstairs waiting for me.” Just then Jusi came in, “Ma’am, there are three men downstairs in the lounge waiting for you.” Marlena bit her lip and slid out of bed, “Thank you Jusi…could you have Anna bring Dorian down there for me?” “Yes Ma’am.” Jusi left as Marlena went to pull on some clothes (black halter-top, black dress pants, boots, and a sports jacket) then moved to go downstairs. “JR, Jamie, and Jason…to what do I owe this visit?” ‘I’m afraid but I need to remain calm…just make the same decision like you did in your dream.’ Jamie stood up, “I’m not here for the same reason they more than likely are…I just wanted to come and visit you.” Marlena nodded, “Then could you go wait out on the back porch? This won’t take more than twenty minutes.” Jamie nodded and moved to go outside; Anna handed Dorian to Marlena. “So…what is this about?” “I think it’s about time you made a final decision of who you want, Marlena.” She looked at JR and inhaled deeply, then slowly walked past Jason to him. “I believe I’m making that decision right now.” Her hand settled into JR’s and Dorian curled against his mother; she turned to look at Jason. “I’m not sorry…and you need to remember…you replaced me with Sam…I’m not replacing you because I never had you. Sam on the other hand…will always have you. End of story.” She leaned against JR as he wrapped his arms around her waist.

Jason ran a hand through his hair and left to head back to Port Charles for good; Marlena curled against JR and smiled. “Want to spend some time with Dorian while I go see Jamie for a little while?’ JR just nodded, “Yeah fine…may as well get to know him better.” Marlena smirked as she handed Dorian to JR, “Dorian or Jamie?” “Very funny.” Marlena swatted JR’s butt as she left to head outside, she stopped Jusi on her way towards the double-doors. “Jusi, could you bring a pitcher of lemonade outside?” “Yes ma’am.” Marlena stepped outside and sat calmly in one of her wicker porch chairs, “So Jamie…what’s this visit about?” “I just wanted to catch up on whatever you were doing while you weren’t here.” “That’s a long history but I think I can give it to you.” She smiled and sat back as Jusi left the tray for them, “After graduating High School I went to the Police Academy in Port Charles and then I was transferred to Quantico and then to Langley for my official CIA training…which is a lot harder than some people think.” “You’re a CIA agent?” “Yes but mostly for the Special Task Force Division…almost kind of like Austin Powers but not nearly as funny…quite a lot of danger and not as much shagging.” Jamie laughed, “How long have you known your son’s father?” “Jason? I grew up next door to the family who adopted him and his sister Emily…and I was best friends with Carly Benson…who is the mother of Michael Corthinos the third. I had such a crush on him growing up…I literally would not leave the house for any reason at all because of the summer…and some stuff that happened.” Marlena smiled and stretched back, “You know what I remember most about visiting my great-grandmother down here?” “What?” “When I was 13 and your dad brought you over to visit and my mother would watch us playing in the backyard…she used to say to me ‘If we lived here instead of Port Charles…you may end up dating Jamie Martin’ and I would just glare at her.” Jamie blinked at Marlena and tilted his head to the side, “Would that have been so horrific?” “Well possibly not but if that had happened it could have been an oversight…as so many relationships turn out to be.”

Jamie nodded, “I heard of that before…but would have it been as bad as you thought?” “Now that I consider about it…probably not but I wouldn’t risk trying to take you from Babe…since I heard that you and her are now engaged.” “Yes that’s correct, we are engaged.” “I hope your marriage does not fall apart…because that would make JR very happy…” “I figured as much…no Babe and I am going to try our hardest to make this work.” She chuckled, “That’s good to know…at least you two firmly know where you both stand with each other.” “What do you mean?” “This may sound crazy…but I always knew where I stood with Jason but with JR…it’s like there’s an element or something and I don’t even know where I am at with him.” “Maybe you should ask him…” “Yes I know I should ask him that, Jamie…just I’d rather not give him a time length as to when he should answer me.” “Then don’t…if he answers to soon…you know he doesn’t know…and if he answers sometime down the line…” “Then I’ll know he’s telling the truth.” Jamie nodded, “Well…I need to get going. I have some work to do…but I’ll call the next time I want to drop by.” “All right Jamie. It was nice seeing you…bye.” She waved goodbye to Jamie and headed back inside into the family room where she found that JR had fallen asleep on the couch with Dorian. Smiling, she enclosed the two with a long blanket and moved upstairs for a while. The next day was that ceremony for Tad and Dixie’s unborn baby girl; Marlena had decided not to attend because it was a ‘family’ event and she felt out of place at one of those things.

She sat in one of the chairs in the family room as she was reading the morning paper; the loud knocking on her front door frightened her and she went to see whom it was. With much surprise she opened it to see a rather upset JR standing there. “JR…what’s the problem? Are you okay?” JR just sighed and wrapped his arms around her, his face buried in her shoulder. Marlena quietly rubbed his back and brought him to sit on the couch, her hands rested with his as he told her what had happened. “Oh…JR I’m so very sorry…I know there’s probably nothing I can do to help…” JR shifted in his spot and rested his head in her lap (after she put a pillow there); she rested her hands on his shoulders and leaned back against the arm of the couch. JR didn’t go back to the Chandler Mansion that night and Marlena wouldn’t blame him if he didn’t. She had stayed with him in the lounge that night, curled against him as he slept (little of it he did) with her arms wrapped around his sides. JR watched her while she slept though; she looked restless while she slept. She had a reason to be…her dream unnerved her since it involved Jason and she. ‘At least I can still see him in my dreams…I’m so sorry about how this happened…’ She thought quietly to herself the next morning and decided to take a small trip back to Port Charles. She told JR where she would be the next few days so the staff had their orders as she took a flight out to Port Charles. Elizabeth met her at the airport; Marlena stepped off the plane dressed in a long dress (red with one black stripe circling around it). “Where are you staying?” “Metro Court.” “Does anyone know you’re here?” “If you mean know as in anyone in town…besides you? No.” Elizabeth dropped her off at Metro Court and had to get ready for that party at Carly and Alcazar’s.

Chapter Seven.

(In these next two chapters ~~ Marlena will revisit her stomping ground without anyone but Elizabeth knowing she’s there. Sadly, Elizabeth spills the beans to Emily and Lucky will at the party…and Emily calls Jason to tell him. Scary…!)

Marlena knew the hurricane was coming so she went out during the day and returned to her room before the storm hit (she had heard about Maxine from her supervisors in town and had also picked up batteries, a flashlight, and some candles). She knew about Carly being head of the charitable thing for General Hospital and the party they were having at Alcazar’s for it. “Bad time to be having one…with a storm like this they’ll be stuck indoors until it’s over.” She crawled over onto the bed after turning off all the lights and left the bathtub filled with water. Crossing her arms over her chest; she lay on her back and closed her eyes. The thunder crashed outside her room windows as the lighting flashed along with the rain coming down heavily; she sighed softly and tried to calm herself. “No one but Elizabeth knows you’re here Marlena…and you’re sure she’d never tell anyone until you left…right? I hope so…the last thing I need is someone banging down my door because of it.” Her muscles slowly began to relax as she started to fall asleep; at that point the hurricane had washed out the bridge so everyone had to stay at Lorenzo and Carly’s place. Elizabeth moved over to speak with Emily and Lucky. “Emily, can you keep a secret?” “Yes of course I can. Why?” “I picked up Marlena earlier today from the airport before the hurricane settled in.” “You did? She didn’t tell me she was coming into town.” “She didn’t tell anyone I think. She maybe is trying to avoid conflict of some kind.” “Where is she staying?” “The Metro court…I dropped her off before arriving to the hospital to come here.” ‘I wonder if I should call and tell Jason this…I know they had a rocky ending to everything…’ Emily quietly wondered as she excused herself to go ask Carly where the bathroom was, pulling her cell phone from her purse she dialed Jason’s number and waited as it rang.

Sam and Jason were at Sonny’s compound with Michael and Dr. Thomas. “Emily?” “Hey Jase, I need to tell you something.” “Is everything all right?” “Yeah I’m fine…Elizabeth just told Lucky and I that she picked up Marlena at the airport earlier today.” A pang of hurt stung through Jason as she told her, “She did?” “Yeah…she said that no one knew that Marlena was coming into town for a small visit. Elizabeth says it maybe because she wants to avoid some sort of conflict.” Jason was quiet and got reflective again, “I don’t know why she would do that Emily.” “Neither do I…I’d go and see how she’s doing but we’re held up at Carly and Alcazar’s for the duration of the storm.” ‘I’d leave now to go check on her myself…but with Dr. Thomas here I think Sam may be unsafe by herself.’ Jason told himself and then the storm killed the power; which caused Marlena to wake up. Shifting, she moved towards the fireplace to start one and pulled a few pillows and a blanket to lie in front of it. Slowly she began to sing Josh Groban’s Home to Stay to herself to keep her from crying or wishing someone was there with her…but she knew by now that the hurricane had washed out the bridges and it would be impossible for anyone to get anywhere until the storm died down. “Even if Elizabeth tells Emily and Lucky…I’m positive Emily will go to Jason and tell him…but he won’t come to see me…he’s to busy now. With Michael and Sam and the whole Dr. Thomas thing…I could understand why.” She stretched silently and sat up straight; she was hungry and went to the phone to order something from room service. The waiter brought it up to her, as the staff was told to remain the night for their own safety.

Jason pulled Sam aside and told her to go upstairs and sent Max (one of Sonny’s men) with her. “I’ll b back.” “Where are you going?” “There’s some unfinished business I have to take care of.” Jason kissed Sam and moved to leave, it was raining very badly and he got soaked to the bone as he reached the Metro Court. The Hostess at the front desk let him in and locked the doors after, “May I help you sir?” “Yes…I need to know which room a Miss Marlena Huffinton is staying in.” The Hostess looked it up on the computer, “Suite 1782. Shall I call up and tell her you’re coming?” “No, I’d rather surprise her.” Jason climbed the stairs quietly towards Marlena’s floor; Marlena had decided to take a bath and was climbing out when there was a knock on her door. Draped in a towel she moved to open it and bit her lip when she saw a drenched Jason standing there. “Jason…you’re…soaked. Whatever drove you to come out in this weather?” “I don’t know…maybe it’s because you came into town and Emily told me.” Marlena shrugged and stepped away from the door to let him in. “I’ll get you a towel…so just wait here…” She returned moments later with some towels so he could put his shoes and such on them; handing him the larger towel of them all. “What’s this for?” “You…you’d rather catch a cold in those wet clothes or stay dry?” Marlena had changed into a pair of mesh shorts and a long-sleeved shirt; then sat down on the couch and leaned back. Jason returned from the bathroom (after having rung out his clothes to hang them in front of the fire) in only the towel, Marlena was painting her toenails so she was to busy to actually look. Jason sat on the couch (after she lifted her feet up so he could) and looked at everything he had taken out from his pockets before hanging his jeans up so they could dry. “Does Sam know you’re here?” “I told her I had some unfinished business to take care of.” “So that’s what I am? Unfinished Business.”

“It’s better than the truth…I already told her you didn’t want to see me anymore.” Jason shrugged, Marlena shifted and sprawled out a bit…she was shocked when Jason pulled her into his lap. ‘Why is he doing this? Why am I not moving out of his lap? Do I still love him?’ Marlena didn’t know anymore…she really didn’t…slowly she leaned back against him. Jason quietly wrapped his arms around her waist as he rested his chin against her shoulder; Marlena lightly ran her freshly painted (sky-blue) nails against his arms and frowned just a tad. ‘I wish I felt this safe with JR…maybe one day I will…’ Jason could tell something was the matter with her and whispered (in a deep husky tone) in her ear. “Marlena…is something the matter?” “I…actually don’t know anymore. I feel strangely safe around you Jason…but not with JR…I wish I knew why.” She curled against him, her head resting lightly on his chest to listen to his heart beat. Jason held her close to him while she did that, “It’ll sort itself out Marlena…you’ll see…you’ll know whom you’re supposed to be with soon enough.” She frowned and buried her face in his chest, inhaling deeply which caused her to shiver and curl against him more; she then began to yawn and nuzzled up against him. Lifting her up, Jason carried Marlena towards the bed to lay her under the covers. “Don’t go just yet…” Jason blinked at her as she said that, he climbed under the covers and let her curl against him. She’s afraid of something, Jason told himself as he held her close. Burying her face in his neck, Marlena felt helpless and lost…she didn’t know what she wanted anymore. Do I want JR? Do I want Jason? I can’t have both; Marlena quietly groaned which made Jason perk and grunt some. Marlena blinked and peeked under the covers; she bit her lip and slid away from him. “I’m sorry…” She said her voice barely a whisper. “It’s all right Marlena…I didn’t think…” “…that I still cared…I can understand how that could happen…”

She slowly sat up and rested her chin on her knees; the downpour was still going on outside. He watched her quietly and sat up next to her, “…I didn’t mean it the way it sounded…” She shrugged a little and leaned against him. “Your clothes should be dry by now…but I don’t know if you would want to risk going out in this weather.” Jason looked at her and lay back down, “I’m better off staying…at least until the storm clears up.” Marlena nodded and stayed on her side of the bed; she curled up on her left side so that her back was to him and slowly fell asleep. Jason didn’t fall asleep…he spent the majority of the night watching her sleep…Marlena woke up in the middle of the night and she could feel his eyes on her. Turning over slowly, Marlena rested her head against his chest with her arms wrapped around him. Jason blinked and looked down at her, “Marlena…is everything all right?” “…I just want you to know…that no matter what…I’ll always love you…even if we’re 3,000 miles apart or in the same room…” “…what about JR?” “…I love him…but it’s not the kind of love that has me still up at night thinking of you…” “…what are we to do?” “…We have to tell them…” “Them?” “Sam and JR…but separately…it’s easier that way…so the other doesn’t go after you or me…” “They won’t like it.” “No, I suppose they won’t…but they’ll need to live with it won’t they? They can’t change how we think or feel…they just need to embrace it and live with it.” Jason nodded in agreement and lightly kissed her on the forehead.

When the hurricane did finally pass; Jason returned to Sonny’s compound and Marlena took the first flight back to Pine Valley. Dixie and Tad were the first to visit…but on separate occasions none the less. “Hurricane’s are terrible things, Tad…it washed out the bridge so the party at Carly and Alcazar’s…everyone who was still there had to stay for the duration of it.” “Are things always that bad on the East Coast?” “You kidding me? Winter is hell in a hand basket in the North-East…the snow and wind and ice can do anybody who’s not from around there in.” “That’s a funny way of putting it.” “It’s true…anyone who lives there long enough knows that. I could hardly do anything I wanted…stranded with about 500 million other guests who were staying at the Metro Court.” “Is that the name of the hotel?” “Yes it is…Jax named it after the woman he is married to; Courtney Jax.” Marlena hopped into the large wicker chair and leaned against the arm with a pretzel in her mouth. “So, did I miss anything while I was away?” “Not really…I forgot to tell you that Erica wanted to have Dixie tell her whole story to the world on her new show New Beginnings.” “Ouch…does that woman ever stop? She’s like a wrecking ball moving in just about everywhere.” Tad laughed, “You think like most people do in this town about Erica.” “What can I say? She just oozes evil…sort of…if evil likes a personality that holds a vendetta against others.” She stretched out and heard her back pop and wiggled around. “Do you expect JR to visit anytime today?” She looked at Tad with a pretzel in her mouth as she was reaching to get her diet cola with a slice of lime. “What makes you say that? Jamie tell ya something that I should hear?” “Not Jamie…Babe.” Marlena set her pretzel in her lap and took a sip of her soda, “So what dare I ever ask…did Babe tell you?” “She said Jamie and her saw you and JR at a club…” Marlena spit out her soda and wiped her mouth with a napkin, “Is that all? So just from that you assume that JR and I am a couple?” “That’s if you think you and him are…you could think differently from what he and Babe and Jamie are thinking.”

“Well…ahem…there’s little detail I have about what JR and I do together…I also have a problem.” “Which is?” “I have to tell him…I love him…but I don’t love him in the way I love the father of my son.” “It’s different?” “Very different…I’ve know Dorian’s father since I was little…because I grew up next door to him…” “I can see how it would be different…and difficult.” “It’s a meshing of both…which makes me feel even worse because I have to tell him and I don’t want to take forever doing just that.” After Tad left, Dixie stopped by with a gift for Dorian and one for Marlena. Marlena was watching the sunset but didn’t hear JR coming up behind her; she felt his arms wrap around her and inhaled deeply. “JR, we need to talk about something. Could you please sit down?” JR nodded and sat down in one of the wicker chairs while watching her. “There’s something I need to say and/or explain and you just…have to hear it. JR, I love you but its not the same kind of love I have for my son’s father…see the problem is I’ve known Jason all my life and whether I like it or not…he’s the man I love but it’s better when we’re not together…mistakes happen that we can’t make up for or take back…he maybe Sam’s ideal man for a father-figure but not mine…and I have a feeling this maybe hard for you to hear or even understand but I needed to tell you…because if I didn’t I’d be living some kind of lie that I’m not comfortable with.” She quietly sat down, “Your honor that was my closing statement…any last words?” JR stood up and pulled her over, “The defense rests…” He kissed her deeply and smiled, “I understand…which may sound strange since I’ve been close to love like that before but lost it…but I won’t ever stop you if you want to go see him or whatever.”

“I’d never want to do that JR…I’d never feel right if it made you feel uncomfortable at all.” “Not unless he was here…then it would…” Marlena nodded and wrapped herself around him, “Let’s go inside hmm?” “Sounds good to me.” Marlena chuckled and dragged JR inside; she paused when she saw Jusi letting someone in as she stepped back. “JR…you know how you said you’d feel uncomfortable?...well…you just may if my gut is right.” And it was…JR took his leave as Jason approached her; Marlena spun around to pounce-hug Jason and curled herself against him. “What did Sam say?” “She understands how you feel somehow…she doesn’t blame you for how this has happened.” “Good answer…very good answer.” Marlena giggled and snuggled against him, “I was just about to go to bed…want to join me?” “Sure, so how did JR take the news?” Jason asked as he moved up the stairs, Marlena smiled. “Better than I expected…he just told me he’d feel uncomfortable if you were around and that happened so he went home.” Marlena settled on her bed once they were there and scrambled under the covers, since Jason had disappeared into the bathroom for a bit. When he did come out, his shirt was slung over his shoulder and she snickered as she watched him from under the sheets. Jason got into the bed after a few minutes and wrapped his arms around her, Marlena wiggled up against him…they were a very ODD pair; since she’s so much shorter than he is.

Chapter Eight.

(“Oh my giddy aunt!” Ahem…sorry about that quote…I can’t recall what movie it’s from…I think Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life…maybe…sounds like a Bryce line.)

Sleep?...Did she sleep last night? Not to her knowledge because when Jason’s around her body went into overdrive and she was more energized than the “energizer bunny” to say the least. Jusi had brought them breakfast and left it on Marlena’s desk in her bedroom since the two of them were a little more than busy under the bedcovers…that’s right…Jason and Marlena were having sex. To tell the truth Marlena didn’t even know how it turned into that…and she wouldn’t even know how to explain it if she had to. She was still positioned on top of Jason when Jusi had left as it were they were going for round two, they’d be at this all day if she didn’t have to go into work for a special case. “I’ll be back at four…you’ll have the whole day with Dorian if you want to.” She said as she clammered down the stairs at lighting speed, “I’ll call when I’m about to leave…stay out of trouble…” She grinned at Jason and kissed him on the forehead. “I will.” “If you know how.” She snickered and ran outside to catch the car they had sent to pick her up; Jason kept himself busy with Dorian most of the day and sat about some of it...reading. Marlena stepped in the front door around 3:45 PM and set her bag on the floor as she removed her heels to slip into her sandals. “Oh my aching feet…” She eyed the mail on the small table near the door then picked it up; Pierce walked by and told her that Jason was upstairs watching TV in the entertainment room. “You’re home…” Jason got out of the rather comfortable recliner and moved towards her, “You okay?’ “My feet are in hell…I should have not worn those damn heels to work…” She winced and curled against him. “Maybe a warm bath would make your feet feel better?” “That’ll do…” She grinned and tugged him along, “The bath is big enough for two people…”She giggled and stripped off her clothing once inside the bathroom and waited as the bath water ran.

Jason joined her in the tub and let her lean against him under the water, “I’ll feel much better after this…I’ll have a better nights rest.” Jason grinned, “And who said that you’d be sleeping at all tonight? I don’t think you will be.” She squealed as he pulled her from the tub and back into the bedroom. “We should finish what we were about to do all day today…” “Mmm…if I hadn’t been called in this morning…great idea.” She giggled and they returned to having sex just like the night before and that morning. The bath had relaxed all the right muscles to keep them from getting sore until they did fall asleep sometime the next morning. Marlena whined and clung to Jason as she slowly woke up, “Ugh…not ready to wake up just yet…” She curled herself to him; her nose nuzzled the underside of his neck. Jason smirked and pulled her over him, “If you want to go back to sleep…there’s a possibility I can make you sleepy all over again.” Marlena snerked and slid down onto him, he grunted softly. “…unless you want to do it yourself that is…” “That I believe I can do…” She grinned and slowly began to ride him…carefully at first and then she gradually picked up the pace. Jason kept his hands on her hips, meeting her in the middle by thrusting up inside her. Whimpering softly as her muscled clamped tightly around him, she moaned as she climaxed and slowly rested down on top of him. Jason flew back to Port Charles later that night; although she was sad to see him go…she knew he’d be all right back home. She raised a brow as one of the planes that landed…Sam was getting off of it. “Sam? Where’s the fire?” “Where’s Jason?” Marlena pointed to the plane that had just taken off, “On his way home…why?” Sam sighed, “I was just…worried….he never said when he was coming home.”

“That’s unlike him…how’d you get here?” “Sonny fueled up the jet for me…I leave in about fifteen minutes.” “Not much time for a walk around town…how do you feel about coffee?” “Coffee?” Marlena walked towards the food court and ordered two coffee’s to go. Sam took the one Marlena held out to her and they went to sit by the gate. “Thanks…I guess I needed this.” “It’s all right…I can understand your worry about him…Jason has had one hell of a life…Never seems to be dull but it never seems to get any easier for him does it?” “No…it doesn’t…” “Sam…I want to let you know that if you’re ever having any doubts or something…I’m here for you and him…I just want to help and I would fully understand if the arrangement that Jason and I have together makes you feel strange…” “Thank you Marlena…and yes that arrangement does make me feel uncomfortable…but I can understand the history you and he have together…so I will do my best and I will come to you if I need advice.” “Better me than Carly right?” Sam laughed and nodded her head. “I heard she offered you 5 million dollars to get rid of you?” Sam nodded, “Yes she did…but I didn’t take it.” “Of course not…I make less than that in a year…so if it had been me…it would have turned ugly.” “It did…we started a fight.” “Ouch…I wonder something…” “What?” “Well…if we didn’t know each other and such…wouldn’t people assume we’re sisters? We do sort of look a like.” Marlena looks like the actress Sophia Bush who plays Brooke Davis on the WB show One Tree Hill.  Sam chuckled, “Yeah…we sort of do…” That was what I have been afraid of…, Marlena told herself as she sipped her coffee. I’m afraid that the only reason Jason is with Sam is that he’s shoveling off his love for me to her…god I hope not, She continued to think and stretched her arms. Sam looked at her watch and stood up, “I need to get back to the Jet…maybe you should come back to Port Charles and visit sometime.” “Sure…I’ll have to work my way around it…” Marlena chuckled and waved goodbye to Sam as she left.

Returning home, there was a load of cars in her driveway so she parked at the end of it. “Now what is going on here?” She watched as people walked by here, chattering quietly and she walked behind them. “Excuse me lasses…can ye tell me what be happenin’ here?” Marlena used her fake Irish Accent to not let them know who she was. “Apparently JR Chandler is holding a party for some girl named Marlena Huffinton…” “That be so?” The girls nodded and moved up the path towards her house, Marlena smirked. “Well now JR…holding a party in my house now are you? Tsk-tsk.” She smirked and went in the house using the stairs that attached to the balcony on one of the guest rooms and slipped inside. Setting her long black jacket on the back of leather chair in her bedroom, she locked the door behind her and moved towards her closet. “Well now…I’d never thought I’d say this…but I may need this tonight.” Whom/what was she speaking to? An emergency red button for her security system…she had a ton of “unwanted” guests in her home. “Maybe next time JR should ask me first…I do hate surprises…” Lifting the plastic box cover, she pressed the red button and a loud siren went off in the house…Dorian woke up screaming and Anna rushed to his room. All the doors downstairs slammed and locked shut; bars slid and slammed into place over the windows…the Iron Gate at the bottom of the driveway clicked twice to lock shut. “Anna…take Dorian into my room…Thank you…” Anna nodded and waited in Marlena’s room as she moved downstairs. “As the owner of this house…I need remind you all that you are without a doubt…TRESPASSING. I’d be so kind to let you all off with a warning if I wasn’t in such an excellent mood. In about three minutes all these security procedures will slowly return my home to normal and then…you can all leave.” Marlena sifted through the crowd of people who were terrified at the moment, “And next time you want to throw a party JR…make sure you get the home-owners permission. Goodnight to all of you.” Marlena moved back upstairs and Anna returned Dorian to his crib for the rest of the night; the people left once everything was back to normal in the house.

Chapter Nine.

(…What can I say?...Nine Chapters already?...My word…!)

Marlena’s eyes narrowed gently as she was looking at something, Dorian gave a squeal of delight from his play-pen. “Yes I know honey…we have seven minutes left until our cab gets here…” She picked him up and spun him around, “And then we’ll be on our way back to Port Charles to see everyone!” Dorian squealed and hugged his mother, he was happy as ever to go and see his daddy…and his relative family. A soft knock came on the office door and she looked up at JR, “Ready to go?” “Yes I am…” Dorian squealed and made grabby hands for JR who took him from Marlena as they headed downstairs; yes indeed JR was going to Port Charles with them. Pierce had put their bags into the trunk of the cab and bowed to Marlena, “Have a wonderful trip Ma’am…we anxiously wait to hear all the news.” Marlena snickered, “Thank you Pierce…you and the staff enjoy your time off while it lasts.” Dorian waved goodbye to Pierce as the cab drove off towards the airport, it was swimmingly easy to get through the security procedures since she had all the proper information. “Stay here with Dorian…I need to get something to eat.” JR nodded as Marlena walked towards one of the vending machines and slid a dollar in to get a snack and then a drink. As they waited for the plane to arrive, Dorian fell asleep in JR’s arms for the majority of the time…they did have a baby seat (one that fits toddlers and then infants) for the plane. On the flight over; Marlena quietly looked out of the window and placed on hand on it. ‘Where’s a dementor when I need one?’ She made a joke to herself about something that existed in the Harry Potter World. She closed her eyes and rested back against her seat; Dorian’s little hand held one of her’s and she smiled.

“We shall be there soon sweetie…don’t worry.” She smiled as Dorian baby-talked to her and looked at JR who was asleep. She snickered as Dorian placed his hand on one of JR’s and watched him sleep. The plane landed in LaGuardia airport at 4:45 AM (since their flight was sometime after 11 PM)…the long black limo that her sister-in-law (Marlena has a brother…Jamison Patrick Huffinton who lives in the house next door to the QuarterMaines…opposite Carly & Alcazar) Amanda had sent to get them; the limo drove them to the house where Jamison greeted them and held his nephew. “So…he’s really?” “Yes he is…Dorian is Jason’s son…” Jamison chuckled as they headed upstairs towards the wing of the house that she was staying in. “No one knows you’re here yet Marlena…” “They don’t?” “I am holding a gala event tomorrow night at the Metro Court…I’d like for all of you to be there.” “If it’s black tie you’re out of a bottle Jamison.” “No no…it’s semi-formal.” “This means we can dress up if we want to…thank you very much!” Marlena did a fake curtsey and grinned as she set Dorian down for bed. “What time?” “I’ll send the limo back for you, JR, and Dorian around 8:30 PM. Guests of honor are allowed to be late.” “And just whom dare I even ask is on the attending list?” “You’ll see when you arrive….Goodnight Marlena.” Jamison shut the door as he headed down the hallway. She grunted as she sat on the bed, JR looked at her. “I heard about the party…what are you going to tell people about Dorian?” She sighed, “Good question…the truth would kick Sam in the teeth…I don’t want that…it’s best if I say that his father died.” “That will work…” “Yes it will…it certainly will…” Marlena curled under the bed covers to sleep and sleep she did…for most of the day.

Around 7:00 PM, Jamison and Amanda left for the Metro Court…people had begun to arrive as they did. Emily looked around as she leaned against the wall; Elizabeth, Lucky and Nikolas had all arrived together. “Does anyone have any clue as to why they invited everyone in town?” Emily shrugged at Lucky’s question, “Just about everyone in town knows the Huffinton Family…I don’t see why not…” “But everyone in one room? I’m not a scientist but not everyone here gets along.” The limo returned at 8:10 PM to pick them up; Dorian sat in Marlena’s lap as they were driven to the Metro Court. “Ready for this?” “I’ll do my best…what do you say Dorian?” “Patwy!” She giggled and lifted him to rest on her hip as they walked towards the entrance of the hotel. She was quiet on the elevator ride up to the main floor where the party was. Everyone was silent as the elevator doors slowly opened and out they stepped. ‘Oh boy…deep breathes Marlena…just smile and be kind.’ She told herself as she stepped out of the elevator with a deep breathe, “Hello Everyone.” She gave a squeak as everyone came over to greet her; she introduced JR and Dorian to everyone. Emily was happy to see Marlena as always and giggled when Dorian wanted her to hold him. “I’ll get you something to drink.” “Oh thanks JR…and then do your best to try and mingle? Hmmm?” “I’ll try.” “I’m so sorry to hear that his father passed away.” “Yes…well it was tragic news but something’s happen for a reason.” Emily nodded and then smiled, “I love your dress by the way.” “Oh thank you Emily…JR bought it for me…never knew a Vera Wang could cost so much…dents the wallet quiet a bit actually.” JR handed Marlena her drink and walked off with Jamison (and oddly enough) Lucky for a mingle session. Emily, Elizabeth and Nikolas were absolutely stunned at how adorable Dorian was (not to mention…well behaved.)

Carly and Alcazar came on over to where Marlena was, “Heya Carly.” Marlena hugged her and softly giggled. “Some party huh? Jamison must have been the ‘wild’ child in the bunch. Hiya Lorenzo.” “Hello Marlena.” “Yes it is Marlena…you were never the ‘partying’ type growing up.” “Yeah well…comes with the territory of my life I suppose.” Dorian squealed as Jason and Sam came walking over, Marlena gulped and looked at Dorian in silence. Dorian set his small hand against his mother and smiled as if to tell her that it would be all right. Jamison and Amanda were watching from across the room; Amanda turned to Jamison. “I’m going over there before something happens…where is JR?” “Over there with Lucky talking to Monica and Alan Quartermaine…” “More bad news…Reese and Sonny just came in…” “Not enough fire power to go around…we need to get Marlena out of here…” “Maybe she’d rather face the problem head on?” Amanda nodded and moved to sit at a table nearby to keep an eye on things. “Marlena! When’d you get into town?” Sam walked over and hugged Marlena, Marlena returned the hug. “Just yesterday…I suppose this was my brother’s way of letting everyone know I’m in town.” “For how long?” “Three or four weeks at most…I suppose this means we’d be able to spend sometime together.” Emily blinked at Marlena, as did Carly…no one thought that Sam and Marlena would get along but it looked that way. “Ahem…so anyway…who is that little fellow?” Sam bent down to look at Dorian, Marlena chuckled. “That is my son, Sam…Dorian.” “He is so adorable, Marlena…who’s his father?”

“Funny you should ask that…his father died a few months before he was born actually. So I named him after my father.” “I’m sorry…I’m sure he would have made a great father.” “You know what? I think so just the same.” JR made his way over and slid one arm around Marlena’s waist. “Oh, Sam I believe you haven’t met JR Chandler. JR this is a friend of mine…one of many as you can tell from the crowd around me…Sam McCall.” “Hi, pleased to meet you.” Sam shook JR’s hand, JR nodded. “The same.” “I’m going to see if I can get someone to bring Dorian back home…he looks a little tired.” “I’ll do it…” Marlena blinked as Sam said that, and then smiled. “Okay then…my sister-in-law Amanda is over there…she can tell you where the spare key is hidden and what room Dorian is sleeping in. Just make sure to come back…hate to think you got lost in the house.” Sam chuckled as she lifted Dorian up and went to speak with Amanda; Marlena exhaled deeply as Jason went with Sam. ‘That was a close call.’ Marlena whispered to Emily, who nodded. Emily (besides Jason, Jamison, and JR) was the only one who knew that Jason was Dorian’s real father. “I need some air…I’ll be back…” Marlena excused herself to go stand on the outside dining area and leaned against the railing. Lucky came outside and stood next to her, “Something the matter?” “Possibly…see…I lied about Dorian’s father.” “You did?” “Yes I did…he is infact very much alive. Lucky…Jason is Dorian’s father.” Lucky was shocked when she told him that, “Are you serious?” “Yes…if you look close enough…you’ll see that Dorian has my eyes…but his face and hair is Jason’s.” “Does he know?” “Yes he does…but I’d rather Sam never knew…it would be a lot safer all around.” Lucky nodded, “I can understand that…but I get the feeling there’s something else upsetting you.”

“You’re right…there is…I don’t know what I want anymore. At one time I thought I knew that I wanted Jason…but I tried my damnedest to not let myself fall for him again…and now I have JR and I’m not sure if I want him either…being me is hell on high-heels.” “Well… ‘hell on high-heels’ might be the right idea…” Lucky chuckled and Marlena laughed. “I hate these damn things…I only wear them if I want to…I have two pairs…black and white. The rest of my shoe apparel is sneakers, shoes, and flats for work.” A waiter brought out some petite-fours and she took one. “Strangely enough…I was a tomboy growing up and alls I had in my closet was sneakers and a pair of fancy boots to wear with this one black and red dress for special occasions.” “Oh really?” “Yes and I even took several pictures of my closet before I left for college to remind me of my room at home.” “Did it help any?” “Oh you betcha…I rarely went home…except for when my grandmother died.” “Why then?” “My parents and Jamison went to the funeral and I stayed home. They’d be turning over in their graves if they knew this…but I had a party the night they left…the house was cleaned up before they got back.” Lucky blinked, “And to think…from what you were saying inside.” “Oh um...well…you see…I had a bit of a problem that night.” He raised a brow, “What happened?” “That’s a funny story…depends on how you look at it though. I wasn’t drunk it just happened. Lucky for me Emily walked in on us.” “What did she walk in on?” “Jason and I making out. That’s why I stopped going to/having parties…I was afraid it would happen again…or worse.” Emily walked outside, “I remember that…she kept thanking me the next day after I helped her clean up.” “Hey…I couldn’t help it…wasn’t my fault…it should have been. I didn’t know I was that bad of a flirt.” “You didn’t know you were laying it on that hard, Marlena.”

“You could have told me I was.” “I think you were enjoying yourself…you just didn’t want to get yourself in a spot that would make you hate yourself.” “You saved me…sort of.” Amanda stepped outside, “Marlena…Sam and Jason have returned.” “Thanks Amanda.” Amanda nodded and returned inside; Marlena sighed. “Why did my brother have to marry such a stuffed shirt?” Lucky and Emily looked at her. “What? I don’t like her but she makes him happy so therefore I have to fake caring what she thinks.” “How did they meet?” “At one of those snobby upper-class tennis country clubs that his law firm belongs to…her parents own the place and he is their lawyer…enough said.” “Maybe you hate her because you’re not like that and people who are make you mad?” “Good guessing there Lucky…I think that’s my foundation reason…another is she snubbed me at my CIA introductory ceremony. So I spilt my fruit punch on her white dress and told her to leave.” “You did what?” “That was before I had her escorted out of the building…mind you everyone was laughing when I did it…at her of course…even Jamison found it funny.” “Your parents didn’t though…I remember. You had asked me to come.” “Yes, they were quite upset with me but didn’t blame me when I explained why I did that. This is why she is so hostile towards me.” “Marlena, we’re leaving.” “Okay Carly…I’ll call you tomorrow and we can do something. Bye.” Marlena waved as Carly went to leave with Alcazar and stretched. “I feel myself the need to leave as well.” “You can.” “Thank you for that. Bye Emily, Bye Lucky.” “Bye Marlena.” She went to get JR and they walked back to the house. “My feet…are killing me…” She threw her heels off and into her luggage bag as she entered the bedroom. “I’m so tired…” She slid out of the dress and rested it over the tall chest of drawers as she slid on a long black shirt.

Chapter Ten

(“Dun-dun-dunnnnnnnnnnnnnnn!”)

“Take a warm bath tomorrow morning after you get up.” JR said as he pulled on his pajama pants and climbed into bed; wrapping his arms around her. “Good idea.” She curled up against him and fell asleep. While Jason and Sam were back at the penthouse; Jason sat down on the couch and ran his hands through his hair. He had gone wandering around the Huffinton estate as Sam put Dorian to bed and found Marlena’s old bedroom…he suddenly remembered about the party she had one night…and the things they had done. He now knew why she was so jumpy around him…he couldn’t blame her anymore. Sam went up to bed and Jason followed as he thought about how her room had never changed, except that Dorian’s baby crib was beside the closet doors…it was just the same. I want to see the inside of that room again…I need to…with her. Jason lay down beside Sam and wrapped his arms around her as she went to sleep. The next day; Jamison and Amanda took JR out to show him the area. Marlena stayed home since she didn’t feel well and when she heard the doorbell ring it surprised her. Opening the door, she blinked as Jason stepped inside. “I need to tell you something Marlena.” “O…okay. What is it?” “When Sam and I brought Dorian home the other night…I wandered around and I walked into your old bedroom…” “…You did?” Her heart thumped hard against her rib cage; he moved closer to her and she didn’t step back as he brushed his hand against the side of her face. She shivered lightly as he pulled her close, “I want to see it again…with you…” He whispered against her neck and she led him up the stairs towards her old bedroom. As she turned on the lights; she looked around and saw the walls that had been painted black, the strobe light that spun over-head, the glow-in-the-dark stars that were all over her ceiling and walls, and she shut the door behind them.

He moved and turned off the lights (while at the same time pressed her up against the door); she couldn’t help but gently tense up by being so close to him. “The first time I remember being in this room with you was the party you threw…” His hands gripped her waist gently so that he didn’t harm her at all; he could tell she was very stiff beneath him. “I’m not going to hurt you--” “I know that…I don’t understand why I’m so tense around you…” “Yes, you do.” “What?” “You do understand why you’re so tense around me.” Her face flushed and she felt her cheeks and ears burning, “I do?” He nodded and brushed his hand against the side of her neck, “You still love me.” “For the love of – I do –” Shutting her up was easier than he thought; he pressed his mouth against her’s as he held her to him. A low moan weaseled its way out of her throat as his hands traveled down her back; she tried to push herself away…worried that Amanda, Jamison, and JR would find them this way. “Don’t fight it, Marlena…don’t…” “…there’s nothing to fight…I can’t…” Lifting her up, Jason carried her over to the bed and removed his jacket (tossing it on the floor…); his body pressed her’s against the mattress as his hands lifted up her shirt. Whimpering softly, Marlena shifted under him as he calmly blew against her skin, which caused an unfathomable tremble up and down her spine. Pulling her up close to him, Jason removed her shirt and stared quietly at her chest.

Running his hands over her skin, his jaw clenched as he was doing his best to pace himself. Marlena leaned up and nipped at his neck; he groaned and gently gripped her hips. “That’s not fair…” She smirked and hooked her thumbs under the waist of his jeans, “We’re way past foreplay, Jason…always have been…” “I agree…” He smiled and slowly undid the string that held her sweatpants; then tugged them down. Sliding his thumb under the waist of her panties; with one solid tug he pulled them down and off (and to the floor with her shirt, pants, and his jacket). After removing his jeans and shirt; he wrapped her legs around him and slid into her. His pace was slow and torturous; something she was used to by now…which should be a clue as to how long it’s been on his/her mind…does it help to know since she started high school ages ago? Probably not since Marlena is three years younger than Jason. When they were finished; Jason showered and left…a few minutes later, Amanda, Jamison, and JR came back home. Marlena was upstairs in the bear-claw bath tub soaking for a bit before she pulled on a pair of shorts and a tee-shirt and sat on the bed to read the paper. She felt a slight difference; an actual calm between herself and Jason…like she had the actual ability to move on if she so desired. JR came upstairs and got into bed after she did; Marlena curled against him…actually spooning as she rested her head against his back.

Jason returned to the Penthouse and found Sam sound asleep on the settee (or “couch”); he carried her up into the bedroom where he covered her with the top sheet as he changed his clothes and climbed beside her.

[Chapter’s 11 and 12 are in the early writing stages still.]
