A Bosco and Cat tale

Four A.M. two hours to go
I'm wearing out a lonely glow.
I miss you more than I could know.
Here I am, here I am,
won't you get me?

I've got my hands in redemption's side
Whose scars are bigger than these doubts of mine.
I'll fit all of these monstrosities inside
and I'll come alive.

Cat was driving around, listening one of her many SwitchFoot Albums in her car and softly sang along.  Pulling up outside a small market, she locked her car and meandered inside. Juice, Gatorade, Powerade, Kraft Easy Mac ‘n Cheese, Ramen( beef and chicken flavored ), and Ben & Jerry’s Dublin Mudslide Ice Cream. All this she purchased and headed out back to her car and put it all inside her trunk. Out of nowhere, she heard shots being fired and people started screaming, running off and she ducked behind her passenger side. Slowly catching her breath as she tried to think straight as she looked around to see where the shots were coming from. When she peeked up the shots rang out again, and she scrambled down to the pavement. “Shit…shit…oh fuck…” She said to herself as she lay there and dug for her cellphone but was to afraid to dial for help and was in tears from being so afraid. Curling into a ball, she tried to sing to herself to calm down.

What's it gonna take to slow us down to let the silence spin us around? What's it gonna take to drop this town? We've been spinning at the speed of sound. “God…where is Bosco or Ty when I need them?...” She asked herself as she tried drying her tears. Lucky for her, someone had put a call in already. The Shop Owner had seen what was happened and ESU along with some Squad Cars from the 5-5 and a bus was forthwith to her location. Stepping out of those convenience stores what could we want but more more more? From the third world to the corporate core we are a symphony of modern humanity. She shut her eyes and quickly dialed Breangwen’s cellphone number. “Cat?” “Breangwen!” “Cat…calm down. What’s the matter?” “I’m…outside this small market shop and all of a sudden I’m being shot at…I’m so scared…I…I…” “Cat, breathe okay? Breathe in the good and breathe out the bad. Please, you have to stay calm. Maybe someone has already called the cops by now. Okay? You need to stay calm. For your sake, you have to stay calm.” Cat nodded, she could feel herself shaking as she breathed through the phone. “Cat, are—are you shaking?” “Yes, I am. Breangwen I am so afraid.” Breangwen breathed deeply and perked as she heard the wailing of sirens in the background. “Cat, listen right now. Hang up with me and call back after the cops have handled the situation. Okay?” “O-O-O-Okay.” She also heard the sirens and hung up, staying low to the ground. Slowly Faith and Bosco’s RMP rounded the corner near the small marker and Yokas looked out her window.

She saw Cat curled in a frightened ball near her car and climbed out. Ty and Sully were on one side of their RMP while shots were fired at them. ESU had stationed up on a building and a bus was just around the corner. Faith duck and rolled so that she landed beside Cat, “Cat, hey it’s Faith. Look at me.” Cat turned her head and curled up one more. “Can you tell me what happened?” Cat nodded as Faith pulled out her notepad, taking Cat’s statement she ran back to the RMP and looked at Bosco. “So, what happened?” “Well, apparently she came out of that market and someone just started aiming for her.” Bosco blinked as he looked past Faith and watched Cat crawl into her car and hide out in the backseat. “Was that who I thought it was?” Faith looked back at where Cat had been and then to Bosco. “Yeah, it was Cat. I told her to climb in her car and lay low until we find the shooter. That’s when bullets came flying at both RMP’s and Bosco along ducked out of their RMP and climbed over to where Cat used to be. ESU looked where the shots were coming from and got ready to aim and fire.

Cat softly sang to herself to while keeping her eyes shut and trying to block out the sounds of guns going off. If we're adding to the noise turn off this song If we're adding to the noise turn off your stereo, radio, video. I don’t know what they're gonna think of next genetic engineers of the most high tech A couple new ways to fall into debt I'm a nervous wreck but I'll bet that that T.V. set tells us what we've wanted to hear
But none of these sound bites are coming in clear From the third world to the corporate ear we are the symphony of modern humanity.
After it was over, they brought the shooter to the hospital where he was having the bullet removed and would arrest him there. Cat was to afraid to move so she called her mother who came down quickly to drive her daughter home and get her into bed.

Later on that night, around quarter of two in the morning there was a soft knocking at her mom’s apartment. “Coming.” Her mother called, removing the blanket from her lap and walked towards the door. She blinked when she saw Bosco standing there, “Bosco, how may I help you?” “I’m here to see Cat, is it too late for that?” “Oh um no, no it’s not. Come in. Let me go and tell her.” Bosco walked in and sat down in a chair as she went to go tell Cat she had a visitor. “Cat, dear there is someone here to see you.” Cat looked up from her corner, clutching her Fender Strat. “Who?” “Um, Bosco. Do you want me to tell him to leave or should I just let him wander to here?” “Let him wander please.” Her mother nodded and went back to the living room. “She’ll see you now, her room is the last door on the right.” He nodded and wandered off down the dark hallway towards a small bit of light creeping out from under a door. Cat hummed a smidge as she was playing then began to sing. “At thirty-one His whole world is a question mark All this time He's never been awake before Watching dreams that he once had Feed the flame inside his head
In a quiet desperation of the emptiness he says...`There's got to be something more Than what I'm living for
I'm crying out to You`.”
She looked up as she placed her Strat against the wall. “Come on in, I’m not going to bite.” “I didn’t think you did.” “With a name like Cat, I thought you would think it.” He chuckled softly and sat down in her desk chair. “You all right?” “Considering what happened to me today? No, not really but I’ll pull through. If it’s not one thing it’s another. Obstacles are a bitch but fun to get through.”  He nodded and looked at her then at her guitar, “You play?” She turned to her Fender Strat then pulled it into her lap. “A little, I drive my mom nuts because all I play is SwitchFoot.” She cradled the guitar to her body and smiled. “Besides my car, this is my baby along with my computer. I’d be happy with just these.”

Bosco nodded and sat back a bit, “You going to play something or just sit there cradling it?” “Oh, um yes I will. This is called ‘Dare To Move’. It’s one of my favorite songs.” She smiled and tuned up once more before she began to play, humming before she started to sing in a soft yet surreal voice. “…I dare you to move I dare you to lift yourself up off the floor I dare you to move Like today never happened Today never happened before. Welcome to the fallout Welcome to resistance The tension is here Between who you are and who you could be Between how it is and how it should be. Maybe redemption has stories to tell maybe forgiveness is right where you fell Where can you run to escape from yourself? Where you gonna go? Where you gonna go? Salvation is here…” She settled back with her guitar in her arms. “That was good.” “Thanks. It was like riding a bike…once you get on you never forget.” “So, you’ve played before?” “Yes it
back in high school. We couldn’t afford to rent it anymore so I had to give it up.” She put her guitar back against the wall. “ “That must of sucked.” “Yeah, but I got over it.” She crawled from the floor and climbed onto her bed, Bosco eyed her and sat down on her bed beside her. Tickling her sides as she lay on her bed, Cat squeaked and squealed whilst wriggling to try and get away!

was a beautiful let down
when you found me here
yeah for once in a blue moon i see everything clear
I’ll be a beautiful let down
that's what I’ll forever be
and though it may cost my soul
I’ll sing for free
we're still chasin our tails and the rising sun
in our dark water planet
still spins in a race
where no one wins and no one's one

I don't belong here
I don't belong here
I’m gonna set sight and set sail for the kingdom come
Your kingdom come
won't you let me down yeah
let my foolish proud
forever let me down

easy living, not much like your name
easy dying, you look just about the same
won't you please take me off your list
easy living please come on and let me down

we are a beautiful let down,
painfully uncool,
the church of the dropouts
and losers and sinners and failures and the fools
oh what a beautiful let down
are we salt in the wound
let us sing one true tune
