Breangwen, BabyBoy, Cat, Erika, Kimmie, JoJo, and Micah were going out of state tonight. A mutual friend of Erika and Kimmie’s had moved to Connecticut before winter hit and was throwing a party. Since Kimmie had spoken to Jane about it a few weeks before, she had permission to go as long as she didn’t get arrested again or its back in Rikers for her. She’s rather stay OUT of Rikers and/or Sing Sing, if and when she could possibly avoid it for the rest of her probation sentence. Cat had a problem though; a BIG problem and this problem had a name, a temper, and could very easily find her. Bosco, see she didn’t tell him that she was getting the hell out of dodge for the night so naturally she knew there would be some drama about it later on. Little did she know, the “later on” would be outside and turn into a fight.

I found a reason for me, to change who I used to be .The reason to start anew, and the reason is you. Cat moved about Joey’s house as she was going outside to have a smoke. See, the weatherman had predicted snow and it was snowing tonight. All slow and romantic, it was never this way in New York because Joey lived in the boondocks and had to drive everywhere so it was cool like this. Zipping up her winter vest, her nose was a little red, not from being drunk but from being freezing cold. She climbed into Breangwen’s car to get her purse and dug through it for her cigarettes. Grabbing her lighter and box of smokes, she slid out of the car and locked it again. As she lit the cigarette, she suddenly became aware when a certain mustang drove up along the house. Why did Joey live on a cul-de-sack? Basketballs and the like always rolled into his yard and he kept them, and then sold them back to the neighborhood kids for ten dollars a piece.

“Shit.” Cat’s ice blue eyes watched as the figure walked towards her. “Bosco...” She muttered softly as Joey came walking out of the house, dressed in jeans and a black t-shirt.  Her skin turned this pale color as Bosco kept walking towards them, and Joey started talking to her about this concert that he bought tickets for. “So, who’s going to be there again, Joey?” Nice diversion there Cat, she quickly looked at him. Avoiding eye contact with the very angry Bosco. “Story of the Year, Hoobastank, POD, and Linkin Park. You want to come?” “Cat.” Cat breathed deeply and turned to Bosco. “Hey Bosco.” “Why did I have to find out from my mother where you were headed?” “Because I told her? What now I’m not allowed to leave the state?” Joey watched the two for a moment; Breangwen was now outside along with Erika and Kimmie. “Kimmie, go inside and round up the guys for a bit. We may have to leave soon.” “Okay, Brean.” Kimmie went back inside to get the guys and Breangwen walked over to Joey. “When did he get here?” “He just showed up.” “Okay, if this gets out of hand. Try and break it up for me. She can’t get into anymore trouble.” “Got it.” Breangwen walked back over to Erika, who stood in the shadows.

“Yeah, you are allowed to leave town but it would be nice to know where you are going.” “Oh, that’s great WARDEN. What I have to check in with you now before I go and see my parole officer and ask for her permission?” Joey walked over, “Hey man…maybe you should just go...” “Joey…doesn’t get in the middle of this...please…” “No, no. Let the little man speak Cat.” Cat’s eyes narrowed and Brean was keeping her eyes on the two, well three for now. “Little? You’re the one who came onto my property without an invitation, which infact is trespassing. And I’m probably sure you missed the ‘NO TRESPASSING’ sign stuck into my lawn.” Cat stepped back and to the side as Kimmie walked out of the house with the guys. Erika jogged over to Cat and pulled her back into the shadows. “Just say the word Cat, then Kimmie, I and Micah will take you home.” Out of the corner of her eye, she saw a flash and heard thud on the ground. “No…” Her ice blue eyes turned to see the boys now in a fight as a circle gathered around the two. “Get me home, Erika.” Erika nodded and whistled over to Kimmie who took Micah along with her. “We’re taking Cat back to my place. Kimmie, run and tell Breangwen we’re taking my car back.” Cat handed Kimmie Brean’s car keys and she ran off as the fight grew worse.

“Let’s go.” Erika wrapped her arm around Cat who curled towards her cousin’s friend and leaned on her some. “Micah, you drive.” He nodded as she handed him the keys and climbed in. Kimmie hopped up into the passenger’s side as Erika calmed Cat down in the back seat. “Is she going to be okay?” “She’ll be all right Kimmie. Just a little…” Erika looked at Cat, who whispered in her ear and she nodded. “…Bosco trouble is all. She’ll get over it eventually.” Kimmie nodded and turned around to face the road again.

“Out of my way people!” Breangwen shouted as she pulled her way through the crowd of people and watched the two “cavemen” go at it. “Joey! Bosco! Off of each other, NOW.” She yanked Joey off of Bosco and tossed him back towards the house. Her deep brown eyes narrowed at Bosco and her upper lip curled. “You have just earned yourself a warning Bosco. You do this again and I’ll be after you myself.” She glared at the crowd. “Shows OVER everyone. Go HOME. NOW!” She zipped up her coat and headed towards her car to head home. “JoJo, BabyBoy. Come with me, I need to go and check on Cat.” While the crowd departed, Joey locked up the house and cleaned it. Bosco headed on home for the night, to lick his wounds.

I'm full of regret
For all things that I've done and said
And I don't know if it'll ever be ok to show
My face 'round here
Sometimes I wonder if I disappear

Would you ever turn your head and look
See if I'm gone
Cause I fear

There is nothing left to say to you
That you wanna hear
That you wanna know
I think I should go
The things I've done are way too shameful

Your just innocent
A helpless victim of a spider's web
And I'm an insect
Goin after anything that I can get

Cat had decided to spend the night at Erika’s, Kimmie’s car was there and she brought Micah home as they waited on Breangwen’s arrival. Breangwen stormed into the house and saw her cousin curled up on the couch. She sighed and removed her coat as she walked over, bending down beside it. “You all right, Cat?” “What happened?” “They went cavemen on each other, I broke it up. Next time this happens, I’m going after Bosco myself. You understand that?” Cat nodded, “You have my blessing when you do.” Brean smiled and hugged her cousin. “I’m going to head home. Erika will bring you by my place tomorrow and then you can go to your mom’s. Get some rest okay?” “Okay.” Cat leaned forward and hugged her cousin to her. “Thank you, Breangwen.” “Not a problem, Cat.” Breangwen headed home for the night.

The next morning, Erika dropped Cat off at Brean’s and she drove herself home. Her eyes glanced at the answering machine and just pressed delete. On her bedroom door, there was a note from her mother about the messages and she sighed as she read it while getting ready for work. Shaking her head while in her car, she turned up the radio to try and drown out her thoughts from the previous night.

I'm not a perfect person
There's many things I wish I didn't do
But I continue learning
I never meant to do those things to you
And so I have to say before I go
That I just want you to know

I've found a reason for me
To change who I used to be
A reason to start over new
and the reason is you

I'm sorry that I hurt you
It's something I must live with everyday
And all the pain I put you through
I wish that I could take it all away
And be the one who catches all your tears
Thats why i need you to hear
