"Confusion: Let It Go"
A Bosco and Cat Tale
By: Mary Moule
Hey Mama, this
the beat that make you move mama. Get on the floor and move your booty mama. Cat slid away from Bosco’s Mustang after what had
happened during the party and after it she would keep quiet. It was all really
a blur in her mind; the last thing she remembered was her mind taking control
of her and one thing lead to another then before she knew it! WHAM-BAM-THANK-YOU-MA’AM!
She was on his lap in more ways than one and it wasn’t the heaters steaming up
the windows like that. During the night there had been a blizzard and now they
were plowing people out. She dashed over towards Brean’s ride and climbed in.
"Cat. Where
were you?" Brean eyed her from the back seat, she had emergency blankets
and pillows incase this ever happened. "I cuddled up with a warm body…a
warm nobody…last night." "Oh. Okay. Well, they should be giving
the all clear for us to leave soon." "Why? What happened?’ "Why
you were off…doing whatever. A blizzard hit and trapped everyone in the city
where they were for the night. The plows just got out like two hours ago and we
are still waiting." "Okay you guys! You are all clear! Head on
home!" A Security Guard shouted and Brean scrambled to the front of her car
and started it up and sped off. "Which house Cat? Yours' or mine?"
"Mine. I should get home." Cat shrugged and pulled her jacket back
on, stuffing her hands in them.
Brean dropped Cat
off and she ran to go inside. Her mother was still asleep so she went and took
a bubble bath and pulled on some warm pajamas and climbed under her bedcovers.
Turning on the TV, she gazed at the news for a while. All over
Hours later, Jane
called Cat. "Cat." "Hey Jane." She replied tiredly.
"You okay?" "Got caught in the blizzard while at the party last
night. You?" "Oh gosh are you alright?" "Yeah, I’m fine.
Just REALLY sleepy. What’s up?" "Oh ah nothing just calling to see
that you made it home all right. You going to work today?" "No, mom
has the shop closed because of all the snow. Not that I blame her, it was
really bad out last night or so I was told." Cat shrugged. Jane nodded.
"All right. Well, have a good day." "Yeah, bye Jane." Cat
hung up and curled up under the covers, coughing.
"Cat? You
alright?" Her mother called from the kitchen. "No Ma."
"Well, I’ll make you some soup. Be glad we’re not working today."
"Ha, funny. I could drink all the fricking Chai Tea Lattes I want and I’d
get better much faster." "Then I’ll run down and make you a few and
bring them back. Want anything to eat with them?" "Two Cinnabuns and
a grilled penini. Please." "All right. All right. Stay where you are.
May as well run out for vitamin C and Echinacea." "Thanks Ma."
Cat smiled as she moved to the couch and laid down on it. Resting her laptop in
her laptop and typing away as she watched the news more. "I’m back."
Her mother walked in and rested the tray of Latte’s and then the food on the
coffeetable in front of her. "Awe, thanks Ma." Cat hugged her mother.
"Your meds are in the white bag. I made a run to CVS." Cat smiled and
sat up to take her meds and drink the Latte’s happily as she ate and watched
TV.
For the most part of
the day, she helped her mother around the apartment with chores and then helped
her grocery shop online to have it delivered to the apartment. While dusting,
her mother received a phone call and had to run to get some things for her
sister, Breangwen’s mother. "Do you want to come along?" Her mother
asked as she pulled on her coat. "No thanks Ma. No offense, but Aunt
Christine thinks of me as much as Kimmie and Breangwen do, they could
careless." "Oh honey." Her mother sighed and shook her head as
she left.
Cat cleaned up a bit
as she waited for the groceries. When they arrived, she put them all away and
tossed the bags out. She then brought her dirty clothes to the laundry room and
washed them. After a while she just laid back down on the couch and rubbed her
face. Slowly falling back asleep as she muttered, "Just Let It Go."
