I have known Ms. Mieres for the past 7 + years. She is the most caring, passionate and honest woman I have ever met on this earth. Add to this her complete generosity, keen sense of humor, her wisdom to understand most situations and youll realize why anyone who has met her (even just once) has never said; Mary who?

She is a woman who breathes life into those around her. Mary can make a pleasant event out of simple things such as creating some wierd salad or taking a car ride. I have personally seen her teach children and run administration duties when we worked together at Provisions Academy in Sanford, NC. I have sat in on her home school sessions that consisted of the most wonderful kids God ever made (of varying ages) when she lived at the Beulah Retreat. I have witnessed her prepare meals tirelessly for dozens of people at a time with a happy smile as she invents new works of art and garnishes of beauty to everything she participates in. Through these small things mentioned and other circumstances during her life there is always one interwoven main ingredient; LOVE!
Her middle name may be Lane, but in reality it should be love. She wears it on her face, keeps it always in her heart and shares it with anyone she comes in contact with, especially children.  Glad her dark days are behind her.  I was there when she fought great health issues and although she never complained I know it was intense for her.  Never missing a days work through it all, nothing can bring her down.

She is creative, vibrant and exciting to be around. The children she cares for develop an incredible respect for her and an appetite to become better people. Mary can weave fun and discipline together into a wondrous learning process. She is a gourmet cook who puts expression and flavor in all her creations. She has immense amount of spirit, energy, and verve. She keeps an open mind to any and all things around her, and there is an aura around her that makes you want to spend time with her. She will be a blessing to any home or business situation in which she is being considered.

I must though admit several of Marys faults. (She has asked for her references to please include my shortcomings in your reference notes). The first of which is, even though she is well educated with two degrees, there are two words in the English language that she has not learned the meaning of; QUIT and IMPOSSIBLE! This could or could not be in her best interests.  She tries and tries and tries, and just when everything might seem to unravel, she tries again. I have seen her move mountains with this character trait, and at the same time I have witnessed her wounded beyond what any human should face.  She does not give up on people and when something is not going right she will always find a way to make it right, or at least try for a better outcome.  Her second fault is her trusting in the mechanics and car salesman people of the world. Since she is sincere, she somehow believes other people are like that too.  She is childlike and naive when it comes to trusting.  People come first and foremost on her agenda and Ive seen this work as a weakness as she at times has been run aground by those who like to take advantage. At times I wondered where her backbone went.  Although some would attempt to throw a wrench in her spokes, Mary always rebounds and she will not tolerate life without a sunrise.
If you desire life, love, and learning in your home; simply add Mary Mieres to it. When you meet Mary, you WILL have made a friend for life.  There is no other way youd want it (or her for that matter). You will be so enriched by the experience.

                                     HER LIFE IS A CELEBRATION!!!
God in His loving grace blessed us here on earth with His child, "Little Mary."
She in turn graces us with a heart of love, boundless energy and a warm infectious smile.  If people are measured by the Light they reflect on others, Mary is an aurora borealis, a star of the 7th magnitude.
Mary has spent exactly half her life walking with the Lord! She, like all of us born into iniquity, has fallen from time to time into the snares of this earth, but life and it's challenges and turmoils do not beat her down.  She is grounded on the Love of God.  She took the name Mary when she gave herself to Him as a daily reminder that everyone lost can be found, and now she gives much of herself daily to those all around her.
Mary knows no strangers, not for more than 5 minutes anyway. Her voice is like a psalm and it reaches many hearts, even those who are confused or living in darkness. She shares her time, her words, her love, and her faith as a way of life.  Those fortunate enough to meet and know her are left with a gift of unspoiled beauty, love, peace and friendship in its purest form. When she writes she is stimulated by His words and motivated that they will plant seeds in the hearts and minds of those who read them. Because of this, her letters have fragrance, her songs have wings and her love shows us faith. She is not afraid of bumpy roads and trying new things. And she does it all with a Spirit seldom seen in our lifetimes. Taste one of her culinary masterpieces, listen to her sing, get whipped by her in a game of racquetball or just fellowship in her presence and you will know just how truly unique Mary really is. On an earth filled with unique people, there certaintly are none like her! She radiates love and seizes life by it's bootstraps. She can be defined in one word; REAL...and a real joy it is knowing her for an hour, a day, a year or a lifetime.
THANK YOU MARY!!  FROM ALL OF US!!  GOD BLESS YOU!!
