Who Said?
Not long ago, a dear friend of mine asked me, "What is your opinion ~
on opinions?"
I gave him a reply that yanked at my heartstrings as a reminder.
A reminder to not think so high-mindedly of myself
"Hummm... My opinion on opinions"
"Well, I'm glad you asked."
"Why?", He asks.
"Because I have actually thought of this before and have settled on an analysis."
... Opinions get us into trouble.
Opinions make us arrogant.
Opinions are not unique.
Opinions are not for the yielded soul.
Opinions become our Idols as we worship at the throne of our own thoughts and ways.
I am of the persuasion that God Almighty is the truth.
And it REALLY matters not what I think about anything.
All that matters as that I find out what God's truth is and believe it, and make it my own.
That's called, being "a Believer."
"Let God be true and every man a liar", as it is written.
Opinions cannot stand in eternity.
All that really matters is:
What is truth.
NO matter what I think is truth.
When I speak, "OH God, Let me speak your truth,
and let my opinions be buried in your death where they belong.
Dead.
When I misunderstand, correct me, and let Your truth become me."
Oh yeah, one more thing about opinions...
Salvation is free.
But discipleship costs everything you and I got. Right?
Well, it cost our OPINIONS too.
When we became His (not when we got saved),
But when we really Belong to Him. And truly GIVE OUR LIVES to Him ... Then we lose our rights.
We don't belong to ourselves anymore.
We belong to Him and are "owned" by Him.
His purchased possession.
For we have been purchased and are bond slaves to the cross of service.  To Him and mankind.
No rights!
No rights to speak out or to defend ourselves, or be heard, etc.
Remember:
We were purchased at a High Cost.
For, it was the Blood of Jesus Christ that paid for our lives.
And if we are His, then our Opinions should have taken back-seat long ago.
Or better yet, they should not even be in the car as we travel.
We are pilgrims passing thru this world on our way to eternity.
And in eternity .. in that glorious place, are no opinions.
His Blood bought our opinions too.
I remain.
Mary
