Ironically, Tracy (who's on the link for this page) didn't live in the Piedmont Lodge. Maybe that's why she has a confused look on her face. Anyway, here's where it all began. 2434 Piedmont Avenue... that big, blue sign you see as you pass this janky-looking house and think to yourself, "That'd make one great haunted house when Halloween rolls around." I make it sound like an epic, but it kind of was. We went through a lot of interesting incidents together... which I will get into detail later. First off, I should say we came to live at the Lodge through total random circumstances and from various backgrounds (of course). But when we all moved in, we clicked... which I was very grateful for. Maybe it was the cramped living style, or the bugs, or maybe even Barbara Lee, our landlord. She was always a good topic for laughs. But, other than that, we were complete strangers, excited about being in college and on our own!
So the beginning was quite a story in itself. Everyone had false preconceptions of his or her roommate, mainly due to Barbara Lee's interesting descriptions (or because nobody understood what she was saying). So, when we met our roomies, you can imagine the surprise... But the biggest surprise was when we realized that 80% of the house was ASIAN! woohoo... that was the first time I actually felt like we were the majority. |
