Chapter 6 by Peter and Danny Flat Alex can't walk because he is too flat and he will get very hurt. Flat Alex can't sit because he is too floppy. Flat Alex can't walk down stairs because he will fall and get very hurt. Flat Alex can't stand or walk because his legs are too flat. Flat Alex tried to go down the stairs one day and he fell down and got really hurt. He wanted to go to the clinic so the class had to carry him down. The next day he tried to sit on a chair and he slipped and bumped his head.

The next day at recess Flat Alex tried to walk over to his friends to play One Touch but by the time he got half way to his friends, he fell and banged his head on the fence and got really hurt. So he can't stand because he is too flat and if he tried to walk to his friends, he would not make it because he can't stand or walk. One day Flat Alex was waiting in line but since he can't stand, walk, or sit, he fell. The custodian was getting a drink and he left his cart next to Flat Alex. So before Flat Alex hit the ground, he jumped into the cart and rolled into the art room. Then the art teacher yelled and the class laughed and the custodian was really confused. Flat Alex was scared because he was in big trouble. The next day Flat Alex came to school and looked at the To Do List. He saw that it said Art so he got scared and he wished he would have stayed home that day. Then at recess when he tried running to his friends, he made it and in class when he sat down, he didn't fall and hit his his head on the chair and when he was waiting in line, he didn't fall down ... then all his problems were solved.
