<With Sebastian Spence>

Sci-Fi's new star, Sebastian Spence (a.k.a. Cade Foster in "First Wave") chats with Cyberex.

Q: Cyberex
S: Sebastian Spence

Q: Would you be interested in directing? Have you written or directed any episodes? Or will you?

S: I am very interested in directing, especially an episode of First Wave - Talk has circulated that this might happen in the third season.  I have creative input in the writing but leave the scripts up to our talented writing team.  Directing, starring Sebastian Spence!

Q: You play a very though role in "First Wave". If you were Cade Foster, do you think you could accept your fate and fight the future for humans?

S: Absolutely.  I think most of us would feel the need to accept the mantle of hero under those circumstances.

Q: What do you think of the story lines?

S: We are lucky to have a very talented and creative writing team that seems to be able to come up with something different and exciting each episode.

Q: Have you discussed with Chris Brancato (show's creator) and Larry Sugar (executiveproducer) where the show is heading in the next season?

S: I have had many discussions with Chris and Larry about where the show is going - but I like to be surprised by the storyline of each new episode as much as the audience does. I try not to get too far ahead of the present in the storylines.

Q: Are the differences between this year and last year shoot?

S: The character has grown quite a bit of from season one and the scripts have grown with it. The shows seem bigger and the turning process that all shows tend to have is in full swing. I feel that each show outshines the one before.

Q: Do you use your own experiences and create Cade as your alter-ego or believe your sixth sense and play what you want to do?

S: I generally rely on instinct as an actor - but certainly the experiences from my past play heavily in that process. At this juncture Cade is definitely an alter-ego for me.

Q: What do you expect in your future as an actor?

S: I would love to do a high budget feature film First Wave with all the special effects, bells & whistles.

Q: What is a thing that you always craved?

S: Feature film is the arena that I would like to navigate in the future.

Q: What do you think about fans' enthusiasm and activities on the Internet?

S: I think that sort of fan enthusiasm is great, but the show should always be treated as just that - "a TV show".

Q: Do you smoke?

S: Cade Foster doesn't smoke. (laughter)

Q: To you, is acting something you take seriously and conscientiously, or is it just fun?

S: I take acting very seriously. Every time the camera roles my pride and honor are at stake - to a certain degree. I think there must be compromise in this but I definitely take a lot of pride in my performances.

Q: Do you have any particular philosophy or policy that you think is important for acting?

S: Discipline and practice. I think those are probably the foremost things that make good actors. Although bringing ones own charm and ability are important as well. For me confidence plays a big part. To know what you're doing and be able to do it well creates work filled with passion and pride. To believe in what your doing is crucial.
