Mary Beth Connor
Mary Beth Connor, 43, Kansas City, died in Pittsburgh, PA following a short, courageous battle against melanoma (ref:  www.geocities.com/marybethconnor).  Friends will be received in Visitatation Church on Sunday, September 30, 2001, from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM, with a rosary at 4:00 PM and sharing of memories and prayer at 8:00 PM.  Mass of Christian burial will be 10:00 AM Monday, October 1, at St. Francis Xavier Church.  Interment in Calvary Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Central City School Fund c/o Greater Kansas City Community Foundation, Visitation Church Transformation 2001 Campaign or Mary Beth Connor Family Education Fund c/o Country Club Bank.

Mary Beth was born in Pittsburgh, graduated from St. Scholastica grade school and Shady Side Academy where she was the President of the Class of 1976.  At St. Mary's College, Notre Dame, IN she studied Nursing and honed her talent of cultivating life-long friendships.  Following a year of volunteer service in Alamosa, CO, 20 years ago this week, she married Keith Connor and moved to Kansas City.  During her 20-year career at St. Luke's Hospital, her assignments included head nurse in Medical ICU, assistance in establishing outpatient cardiac services, and most recently work in the Mother-Baby Unit.  In 1985, she was recognized by the hospital interns as the Outstanding Nurse Educator.  In her short, but full life, her proudest accomplishment was bringing into this world and raising her five children:  Kelly, Patrick, Daniel and the twins, Brian and Andrew.  Mary Beth was Past President of the Saint Mary's College Alumni Club of Kansas City.  She participated in parish and school projects at Visitation Parish and coordinated the Junior Tennis Program at the Carriage Club.  Besides her husband and children, Mary Beth leaves her parents, Paul and Nancy Hudak of Hilton Head, SC, sisters Paula Magrini of Hilton Head,  Anne Meyers of Greenville, SC, Kathryn Hudak of Minneapolis, MN, Jennifer Hudak of Chicago, IL, and brothers David Hudak of Hilton Head, Thomas Hudak of Prairie Village, KS Daniel Hudak of Pittsburgh, PA, Christoper Hudak of Hilton Head and Charles Hudak of Hilton Head. Her family and wide circle of friends will sorely miss this beautiful woman.
