Since we bought a charming 3-bedroom "Craftsman" bungaloa few years ago, I've been working my way thru the rooms, redecorating....
The most obvious room was the living room, which i've done TWICE already. The wedgewood blue paint just wasn't "warm" enough, so I wallpapered.....then I did it all again......
The bathroom was truly the ugliest room ever ~ four different floor coverings, black baseboards, and the wallboard wasn't even taped or spackled. We put down new linoleum, repainted the walls, and installed shower doors and a ceiling fan/vent/heater.
But it still wasn't quite right . . .
We replaced the light fixtures, the medicine cabinet, and the sink...
Added shutters and wainscoting...
Tore up the floor and vinyl tub surround, and tiled everything!
And it's finally DONE:
The 3rd bedroom is the "computer room". This room was in pretty good shape, but I sanded and refinished the wood floor, painted, put up wallpaper and border, and added narrow shelves to show off my plate collection. A coat of paint and some heavy-duty sanding on the top brought new life to the old desk.
The kitchen was almost perfect when we moved in, although I am toying with the idea of stenciling the cabinets, and maybe I'll try faux painting the front entryway.
Cross one more item off the "honey do" list. We installed replacement windows for the kitchen to replace the original single-pane windows.
Footnote: I decided to "rescue" the old kitchen windows, and made them into painted glass hangings....
Our most recent project was to totally redecorate the bathroom, right down to the floorboards. This time we tore out everything and started over.
