The Captain's Unhappy Home Life

Sorry I didn't get back to you earlier, please note that the fund is with a security firm in Cotonou, Republic of Benin. But before the funds will be released to us, you need to visit the the Trust Company as my late fathers' associate.

Would this require a trip to Benin, or is it closer to my present location (Canada)?

So please I will want you to supply me with the below information.

1) Your full name and contact address.
2) Age and country of origin
3) Name of company and position
4) Cell, phone and fax

This might require some work, as you will read below:

1) My full name is Capt. (retired) Donald Arthur Wellesley Morgan.
In correspondence, I prefer to be referred to as Captain Morgan.  A man of my age tends to be more formal in general, and even more so when money is involved.

As for my contact address, here is the sticky wicket. Presently I live with my son and daughter-in-law.  Due to injuries I suffered during the Falklands War (damnable Argentineans!), and my age, I can't care for myself as well as I could in my younger days. Probably drink too much of the family's distilling too, but I think I can be forgiven for that.

There I am, digressing again.

Anyway, my point is my daughter-in-law.  She's a nosy little shrew, always getting involved in things that don't concern her one bit.  If she even caught the slightest whiff of any of this, by God, you'd never get her to shut her mouth.

I'm going to need to set up some sort of alternative address you and I can use for our transactions.  Be patient and I'll let you know.

2) Age (as if that's any of your damn business) is 62, and country of origin is England, although I have full Canadian citizenship.

3) Retired, and living well enough on my military pension and investments, thank you very much.

4) As mentioned above, my daughter-in-law will poke her unwarranted nose in our business from the first phone call onwards.  I'll get a cell phone so we can converse more discreetly.  I hope this is acceptable.

Do you have children?  I don't recommend them, overall.  An impediment and a burden mostly, what with diapers, and crying and all the folderol.  Bah, a comfort in one's old age, perhaps, but a buxom mistress would be better in all respects.

Thank you and God bless while I expect your urgent response.

So you are a Christian then, Mr. Mamar?  Never really had time for it myself.  My shipmate Muggles was heavily involved in the Anglican church - a real sky pilot, if you catch my drift.  Remind me to tell you about him some time.

Your humble servant,

Capt. Morgan (retired) HM Royal Navy
