No, you haven't heard of me, but my name is Fran Kahlua. 

I am very sorry to have to tell you this, but Hazel Morgan passed away Sunday, February 16th.  She and I had gone to talk with a man she borrowed money from to secure the account your father put away for you.  Unfortunately, he struck Hazel and killed her. As the attached newspaper clipping shows, he has been arrested so you may rest easy that she will be avenged. 

Out of necessity, she had told me a little of what she had been planning with you, since her deafness made it difficult to deal with financial institutions. 

Understanding the dangerous circumstances you are in, I knew that you would be anxious to hear from her. I am sorry that it could not be better news. 

Please let me know if there is anything I can do for you. Hazel was the most giving, most wonderful person on Earth, and I know that her last thoughts were about you.
