Happy 12th Birthday!
Brandon chose to have a Fear Factor themed party. Marvin and I had a blast getting it ready, lots of laughs for us from the beginning! To the left is our itenerary.
The attendees: Brandon, Nick, Alanna, Steven, Samuel, and Faith
This party was SO MUCH FUN to put together and, apparently, attend. One of Brandon's guests, Samuel, just moved to America from Sierra Leone, Africa. So most of the party was firsts for him - first party, first taste of a marshmallow, first time eating from a diaper... lol First, we had an obstacle course. We tied the girls to a lawn chair with a rope and paddle lock. We put three keys in a litter box with cat litter and tootsie roll 'poops'. They had to dig through, find the keys, and try the keys one at a time till they found the right one. Cross the swingset hand over hand, run around the house, crawl backwards under a rope, run up on the deck, pop a balloon, TIME! Next, bobbing for marshmallows. Samuel was looking at them for a long time, then finally asked, how do they taste? His first taste of marshmallows was water logged marshmallows in cold water!
Third, we prepared a big pan of linguine noodles, added garlic vinegar and green food coloring. Then we hid plastic flies and rubber cock roaches in them. The kids had to keep their hands behind their backs and rut through the noodles for the bugs, getting points for each one. Nick HATED the gross stuff. Faith got more points than any of the boys, but she didn't participate in the other stunts.
You could REALLY tell Nick didn't want to do this!
Fourth, we had plates of whip cream with sour gum balls hidden in them. They had to find it with just thier faces, chew it, blow a bubble. After about a minute of chewing, the boys tell me that they cannot blow bubbles. Apparently, I got a non-bubble blowing brand of gum. So, they had a whip cream fight instead, getting the diningroom and kitchen covered in whipping cream!

Next, this was my favorite... We purchased night crawlers and put them in a bowl with their dirt. The boys then had to draw numbers to see how many they had to eat. We had all the boys on the deck, having them come in when it was their turn to eat the worms. After you ate your worms, you could stay in. So... You are blind folded and placed in front of the worms. Right before you reach in, we switch the bowls with gummi worms in cookies and honey.
I was not able to get a lot of pictures of this because I laughed so hard, I almost peed my pants, and I did have contractions for a very long time afterwards. Samuel put on his blindfold, then reached in the bowl of gummis. He starts hollering, very loudly. He tries several times to put them in his mouth, shouting and gagging. This freaked the boys on the deck out. Me, Marvin, the girls, Nick, Brandon, were all laughing so hard. He shoves it in his mouth, still hollering, chews with his mouth open, gagging some more. Ate another one, same thing. Never realized they were not real worms will we showed him the bowl!
Brandon is proud of the fact that he ate one of the real worms... No picture of that, I was staring in horror!
Last 'stunt' was the diaper dinner. We filled real diapers with chocolate pudding, raisins, and corn. Then we popped them in the oven on warm for a few minutes. I told the boys Marcel had been working on this all week for them. It was NASTY!! The taste let alone the look of it! BUt everyone ate them! We finished off by adding up points everyone got and they got to choose from a table of prizes, three for each person. The cake was a 'cat litter' cake, but after all the nasty food we'd eaten, no one was really hungry for awhile!
