Buying the game

Gotta start this off by sayin, Stop tryin to fuckin buy this game from me. I wouldn't sell it if I had it on every console, there's too many problems I got with the way people get ripped off buyin the game. I don't work at a video game store and I have no intentions of gettin rid of my games, but I will help u buy it on your own.

Here's a lil history, information, and advice bout the prices of this game. First off, don't buy it from random stores unless u find it for a good price, and u gotta make sure u can get a refund if it doesn't work. Avoid privately owned stores who either make up prices or look on random websites for the highest prices, they're just gonna charge u double the retail value.

Anyhow, this game was originally $39.99 - $49.99 brand new for the Sega Dreamcast, after about 3 months privately owned video game stores noticed the demand and how rare the game was so they sold used copies $29.99 - $49.99 (instead of $14.99 - $24.99) while new copies sold $59.99 - $79.99 and the arcade version was still popular as hell.  The popularity of Dreamcast was low, but when this game was released on Playstation 2 and X-Box, the prices went up a lot higher than before.

Prices started $49.99 then after a couple months it rose over $79.99 used and $149.99 brand new, which has remained to this day. There's still a serious demand for the game, especially since so many people own PS2 and X-Box consoles, and the prices never dropped. If u wanna buy the game for the actual value, keep in contact with real video game stores and reserve it over the phone cause it's never in the store longer than a week.

Here's the deal about 'Real' video game stores, places like GameStop or Electronics Boutique (EB games) the employees don't dress casual, the most obvious sign is mistaking an employee for a customer. Real stores don't sell imports (games made outside of the US), it's just good policy since they can't guarantee to replace anything if it breaks or even if it doesn't work to begin with. The most important sign would be how they look up the prices, usually they type it in their computer, other stores guess the price or look up the prices online in a back room.

So here's the real prices.

Marvel VS Capcom 2 (Retail prices)

Dreamcast:

$39.99 (used) $49.99 (new)

Playstation 2:

$49.99 (used) $59.99 (new)

X-Box:

$49.99 (used) $59.99 (new)

Now here's how much u'll see it sold online or in privately owned stores.

Marvel VS Capcom 2 (Bullshit prices)

Dreamcast:

$49.99 - $89.99 (used) $69.99 - $129.99+ (new)

Playstation 2:

$69.99 - $99.99 (used) $89.99 - $149.99+ (new)

X-Box:

$79.99 - $129.99 (used) $99.99 - $199.99+ (new)

So instead of paying anythere from $80 - $150 at random places, just get it from a real store. There's no excuse for buyin a game that almost costs more than the console u play it on. Ebay would be a great idea, but even then u gotta get lucky, it sells easily over $75 and I don't recommend ever buying a used game over $50 especially since it's not even guaranteed to work.
