The blues of love

I promised myself to be brave and strong
But seeing you leave feels so horribly wrong
I miss you already and I'm not even home
God knows what I'll do when the dark hours come.

I walk through the house and go to our room
But without your warmth, it's as cold as a tomb
I go back to the lounge and discover your card
God knows I have never cried quite this hard.

The silence without you is making me deaf
I keep starting to speak then I realise you've left
I keep wanting to hold you when I'm sleeping in bed
So now I've taken your pillow, and hug that instead.

I really can't wait when these weeks are behind
Because slowly each day, I'm losing my mind
Remember I love you, you're my life and my soul
You make my life happy, you make myself whole.
