New baby

The arrival of a new baby is always exciting
Although for the mother it could also very be quite frightening
They often look very ugly,as newborns mostly do
But its in the knowing or hoping that they'll change
That mothers don't have to stay blue

Their wrinkly little bodies ,their squiggly little faces.
As parents you pray profusely that that will change, before you take them places.
Eyes all puffy, bodies as thin as rakes
Crunched up ears and noses as flat as pancakes

Why oh why do newborns look so weird?
It's as if they look like everything you've feared
But then again you must remember:
Babies are a gift from up above,
Its just a pity that they have the faces, that only a mother can love.
