A little bit about me
Welcome to my site!  I'm Martha.

What useless drivel would you like to know about me?

Let's see... My husband Chuck and I live northwest of Boston, Massachusetts. I've lived near Boston all my life, except for the four years that I actually spent *in* Boston, at Boston University.  I'm a 35-year-old teacher who never really grew up.  My dream is to be a children's librarian.

In my spare time I like to knit and do counted cross-stitch, read, cook and bake, scrapbook, and play with our nieces. I also enjoy hiking and "camping."  (That's in quotation marks 'cause I prefer to go to a campground that has hot showers.)  :-) I'm a lifelong Muppet and Dr. Seuss fan, with personal letters from Ted Geisel (Dr. Seuss) and Caroll Spinney (Big Bird and Oscar) to prove it! (I told you I never really grew up...)

Other than walking and hiking, I am pretty much a spectator when it comes to anything remotely resembling sports. (My sport in high school was marching band.) I threaten every winter that I'm going to try cross-country skiing; it has yet to happen! I enjoy watching hockey, especially the B.U. Terriers, and I'm a die-hard Red Sox fan.

Quote of the week:

"We do not stop playing because we grow old, we grow old because we stop playing."

            -- Oliver Wendell Holmes

It just doesn't get any better than this.
