nutrient- a chemical food required for all  plants to gorw.

parts per thousand (ppt)- a unit of salinity.

pH- a negative log of hydrogen activity.

photosynhesis- chemical reactions insperimented by the light of  plants.

pycnocline- an area having a marked changed in water density.

residence time- the average amount of time for an element dissolved in sea water.

salinity-A measure of the total concentration of dissolved solids in seawater

thermocline- a sharp temperature that marks a contact zone.

vaporazation
-  the process in which a liquid is changed into a a gas.
