ORIENTAL PLAINS
The eastern plains region is 60% of Colombia’s surface, but it is mostly on uninhabited. The northern part is full of deltas and savannas which are formed by the Orinoco River which comes from Venezuela. The southern part is covered with jungle because of the influence of the Amazon River. The climate is hot and tropical with lots of rain and high humidity. Diffrent crops grow at different altitudes. For example: in the middle, hotter areas they grow sugar cane, chocolate, tabaco and rubber trees. In a higher areas they grow coffee and fruits, and the highest areas they grow cereals, vegetables and pine and oak trees. |
