The Accident

Magnetically attached to the horizon
I speed along the Autobahn at night
The sky never so clear, I could alm'st be there
If not for laws forbidding public flight
Then shot into a spinning, tingling frenzy
My tires scrawling mayday on the road
And slash in my eyes, the screaming and cries
Possess me. I can't see. I've lost control.
I'll never go that fast again.
I'll never go that fast again.
I promise I'll never go that fast again.
The wreckage pulled away by flash and siren
I hate this street. I never liked it here.
They tell me the black will never go back
But someone tell me I'll escape this fear

Please. Don't be frightened.
Some of us won't make it but most of us will get there right on time.
