ollum was originally born a Hobbit called Smeagol. Gollum came across the ring while fishing with his cousin Deagol on his birthday. Gollum soon began to steal, eavesdrop and became sneaky. He then look up home in a gloomy den underneath the misty mountains as he hated the sunlight. It was under the misty mountains that Bilbo found the ring when Gollum left it by the water. Gollum then pursued the Bilbo and the ring until he caught up with Frodo and Fellowship near the West Gate of Moria. He Followed them in secret until he was captured by Sam and Frodo who then trusted Gollum to lead them to Mount Doom.
