Do you think that it is possible that humility is the cure for every sin?

My biggest desire is to have a humble heart, but how does one cultivate such a thing? It seems that humility is a God-given gift of the Spirit because it is a rare find indeed.

I was thinking about practical ways of practicing humility, though. I could be quick to confess my weakness and lack of knowledge. I could dwell on thoughts of God�s strength and majesty. I could allow God to capture my heart by reminding myself of these truths and thus killing my pride and arrogance. Simple. I just need to do it. I need to fix my eyes on Him more.

I think humility requires much prayer and petition. Then God will use the circumstances of life to create a heart that is truly humble. Maybe a book will point me in the right direction. Maybe a song. Maybe another person�s godly character. Maybe a verse from a sermon. I want to be open to all these golden opportunities because I know the days are evil.

Oh, Lord, create in me a humble heart!
