The cross demands that we make a choice doesn't it?
We all come to the cross, and when we look at it we can't just ignore it. God hung broken and bloody on a tree. You can't just walk away from that.
I don't think people can see what they are rejecting without the illumination of the Holy Spirit. Once the Holy Spirit illuminates it, how could you walk away?
What bothers me to no end is people who use the wisdom of this world to try to understand spiritual concepts. They fail miserably. They talk in circles. Their points fall apart. They show themselves to be ignorant, yet they think they have all the answers!
What would a man gain if he had all the wisdom of the world but missed the message of the cross in is ignorance? Nothing. Nothing else matters.
Man is so strongly set against the cross. Man hates the cross. Man hates the wisdom of God. Man is proud and wants to discover all of Gods mysteries and give himself all the glory.
It amazes me that Christ died for His enemies. These people are the people who spit in His face, yet how He loves them! He went to the cross for them. How I was like them! Yet my eyes where opened to see that He died for me!
Who am I that I should come to know this wondrous love of His? He led me to the place where I could look upon the cross and see what Jesus death was all about. He opened up my eyes! What amazing love!
