There are so many benefits from memorizing this verse. I had heard that over and over again, but until I actually did it, it didn't understand why everyone said that it is such a good thing to do.

When I am upset, aggravated or irritated I can remember that love is patient. I can chose to show love.

When I am angry or bitter I can remember that love is kind, and I'm not being kind.

When I am desirous of someone else's time and affections I can remember that love does not envy. I don't have to be jealous.

When I am prideful and haughty I can remember that love does not boast in itself. Love would point to Jesus and boast in the cross of Christ.

When I am self-righteous I can remember that love is not proud.

When I am just plain nasty I can remember that love is not rude.

When I am only thinking of what I want I can remember that love is not self-seeking. Love is the most giving thing of all.

When I am tempted to fly off the handle I can remember that love is not easily angered.

When I am trying to "keep score" I can remember that love keeps no record of wrongs. My attitude is wrong.

When I am making up harsh words that haven't even been said I can remember that love does not delight in evil. Love rejoices with the truth. I don't have to make up lies.

When I am afraid of growing close to others I can remember that love always protects.

When I am tempted to draw back in fear I can remember that love always trusts.

When I am feeling blue I can remember that love always hopes.

When I am tempted to give up I can remember that love always perseveres. I can get up again, even if I've fallen down seven times.

Because this love never fails. This is the love of Christ.

This really is the most beneficial tool to solve all the problems of a sinful heart.
