Camping at Bahia Honda State Park in the                Florida Keys

Please allow time for the pictures to load

This is the marina at Bahia Honda
State Park.  We stayed here one
night.  We finally stayed still long
enough for me to drown some
shrimp.  I didn't catch any fish.
I am not a fisherwoman, but I
would like to start fishing.

You can see what is left of the old
7 mile bridge in the background.
That bridge was so narrow you used
to have to pull the mirrors in on
your car for two cars to pass each
other.

I tried to enlarge the picture of the
boat tent here so you can see it better.
It worked great.  It has screened
windows, and was just the right size
for the two of us to sleep in.  the sound
of the water and the night sounds was
very relaxing.  We slept very well in
our little floating camper boat.

This is what the mangrove cuts
look like.  Boating through them
is always interesting.  Lot of wildlife
lives in them.  Birds nest in them
and the water is so clear that you
can see the fish.

Well that concludes our Spring Vacation 2000.
I hope you enjoyed the pictures.
