The fertilizer used was "BEST" brand type for lawn and

gardens measuring 16-16-16 by notation on the bag.

The guaranteed analysis is:

Nitrogen (N): 16.0% (12.0% Ammoniacal Nitrogen/4.0% Water Soluble Organic Nitrogen)

Available Phosphoric Acid (P2O2) 16.0%

Soluble Potash (K2O) 16.0%

Sulfur (S) 7.0%

Application requirements from mfg. are 1 pound per 100 sq. ft. or .0314 gr. per sq.

in.Seeds were planted according to mfg. suggestion. 1.5" apart, .25" deep in soil, kept moist

through entire germination period of 6-8 days, then watered sparingly for rest of growing

period of approx. 70 days. (Although the completed growing time is 70 days, we will terminate

this experiment when the first plant top reaches the top of the growing chamber signalling a

"winner". The final report will be made, complete with photos of each chamber (side) and

the height of each plant.

.60 grams of fertilizer were dissolved in 70 grams of water and it was equally distributed (by weight) to each test side of each chamber. Both test and control sides have equal number of seeds planted and only the test side will get fertilizer-enriched water. Both sides will receive equal water (by weight).

Lunar 102.7

Earth: 99.5

Mars: 108.5

Lunar: 33.6

Earth: 34.0

Mars: 34.2

Condensation inside chambers seems to be about the same, unchanged. The direct sunlight on the chambers seems to helping dry out the soil of each chamber. The Lunar sample is most noticeable.

Lunar 47.7

Earth: 47.7

Mars: 46.0

Lunar: 36.1

Earth: 36.1

Mars: 37.0

Outside conditions were cloudy, rainy and light snow down to 150’ elev. With the severe weather conditions the samples stayed cool and very Little temp variation was noted today.

Lunar 43.2

Earth: 42.6

Mars: 44.2

Lunar: 34.8

Earth: 33.9

Mars: 35.1

Severe weather (ambient conditions) causes very little variation in high to low Temperature readings in any chamber. The rain blew in on the chambers and Standing water under the chambers may have been absorbed from bottom.

17:06 hrs.

Lunar 44.1

Earth: 43.0

Mars: 45.2

Lunar: 33.3

The Earth chamber is still drying out so the absorption may not be a problem. The condensation is not as bad, probably due to the colder temps. The Mars chamber is the most noticeable for drying out.

Day

February 12, 2001

18:35 hrs.

Lunar 65.7

Earth: 64.6

Mars: 44.4

Lunar: 37.8

Earth: 36.3

Mars: 44.4

The samples show some drying out but not enough to warrant adding water. The Earth sample chamber is the driest (from visual observations) The Mars chamber seems to be staying the wettest.

Monday

February 13, 2001

19:35 hrs.

Lunar 108.0

Earth: 102.2

Mars: 108.2

Lunar: 34.1

Earth: 34.4

Mars: 35.3

The Lunar sample chamber is showing some drying. The Earth samples will need water soon. This would indicate uneven moisture content. This weekend will see water being added to the Earth chambers.

Tuesday

February 14, 2001

19:42 hrs.

Lunar 102.0

Earth: 101.7

Mars: 107.8

Lunar: 95.0

Earth: 31.8

Mars: 36.1

The weather (ambient conditions) is clear and nice during the daytime. The chamber temps during the daylight hours would indicate a reason for the increased drying condition in the Earth chambers.

Wednesday

February 15, 2001

16:30 hrs.

Lunar 88.7

Earth: 86.4

Mars: 85.7

Lunar: 37.6

Earth: 37.9

Mars: 37.8

The ambient conditions are changing slightly and the cloud cover is causing a lowering in chamber temps. The nighttime temps are dipping close to freezing. The germination cycle might be interfered with if it goes lower.

Thursday

February 16, 2001

15:30 hrs.

Lunar 97.5

Earth: 95.2

Mars: 98.0

Lunar: 44.4

Earth: 44.6

Mars: 45.0

The nights are slightly warmer but a closing cold front will undoubtedly keep them lower in the coming nights. The bright sun keeps the chambers real warm for at least 6 hours during the daylight hours. This helps germination.

Friday

February 17, 2001

17:05 hrs.

Lunar 43.2

Earth: 42.6

Mars: 44.2

Lunar: 34.8

Earth: 33.9

Mars: 35.1

The cold front is here. The days are cold, windy, and cloudy. The chambers are showing the drop in temps. The seeds will most likely be affected. The result might be a reduced growing cycle. Perhaps increasing 10 fold.

Saturday

February 18, 2001

17:00 hrs.

Lunar 44.1

Earth: 43.0

Mars: 45.2

Lunar: 33.3

Earth: 34.6

Mars: 34.5

The ambient conditions are showing rain, cold, and wind from the north. The chambers are slightly sheltered but still in the direct contact with wind chill temps of the day. Water was added to all chambers per chart below. Earth was driest.

Lunar 63.7

Earth: 66.6

Mars: 45.4

Lunar: 39.8

Earth: 35.3

Mars: 42.4

Late day showers and cloudy conditions are slowing the growth. Observations show the chambers to be condensing on the inside due to the difference of the temp. from inside to outside and the humidity.

Lunar 101.0

Earth: 100.2

Mars: 106.2

Lunar: 33.6

Earth: 3501

Mars: 37.4

Bright sunny days and cool nights are going to really help the growth process. The chamber temps reflect the glass-house like habitate within. The chambers are showing slight condensation on the inside.

Lunar 101.0

Earth: 102.7

Mars: 105.8

Lunar: 36.0

Earth: 33.1

Mars: 34.2

Days are sunny, nights a little warmer than last weeks temps. The weather report calls for cloud cover to start moving in by the weekend. It’s going to get cold and wet real soon!

Lunar 92.7

Earth: 89.4

Mars: 86.7

Lunar: 36.9

Lunar 44.2

Earth: 42.6

Mars: 48.2

Lunar: 33.2

Earth: 36.6

Mars: 33.7

Cold and rain started falling last night. Weather reports call for snow down low and lots of windy, cold nights and days to come. Chamber growth should probably slow as well. Like a refrigerator.

Lunar 40.1

Earth: 41.0

Mars: 43.2

Lunar: 33.5
