This is the actual bag in which the two Kg. of soil samples were sent in.
(The MARS JSC-1 samples are in two bags, the Lunar sample is in the single bag.

These are the three chambers. Built from slotted hardwood with glass sides.
Each chamber will hold a control group & test group. All chambers are equal in volume.

This is the area where the earth sample was taken. The coordinates were: W121° 42' 26.2" long. N39° 29' 40.5" lat. and further analysis and observations are contained on the observation page.

The sample from earth was shoveled onto a screen that sized the soil into the bucket. It was then transported home where it was further screened to a more similar size compared to the other two samples.
