-Minnesota State Coaches Association Poll

Super sophomore Yahya Iman secured the 12th fastest 5000m time this season for AA (16:02.9) to place 6th at the 2002 Roy Griak Invitational. Iman's performance also earned him recognition as the #7 individual runner in the state by the 10-01-2002 Minnesota Coaches Association Poll. He had been considered for individual ranking the past two weeks.

Iman lead a youthful tiger team to 4th place at their first-ever appearance at the 2002 Roy Griak Invitational, one of the most competitive regular season meets. The tigers supporting cast includes the explosive eight-grader Abdillahi Awali, freshman sensation Jon Tauer, super sophs Akey Jumale and Tom Allen, and seasoned juniors Salah Mohamed and Bart Johnson.
