Chapter Fifteen - DarkShadow
It was midnight, and the cave was silent. John, Lord of Darkness(Dum Dum Duuuum) stood in his room, only a faint beam of moonlight lighting the room. He could barely see a foot in front of him, much less the being standing before him. All he could see was the faint hints of a hooded robe, pitch black, but somehow stood out in the darkness, like it was a darker shade of black than anything in the room. The being's face was hidden. In the dark it was impossible to tell, but John had the unnerving feeling that it was watching him.

John broke the silence.

"Have you found out anything new?"

"Yes," the being, a spy, said. John thought its voice sounded male, but he couldn't be sure. "Including the location of the wedding."

"I found that out myself."

"I see. You should have let me do the job."

"The more work you do, the more I have to pay. Now, what new information do you have?"

"I have a complete list of all the members of the wedding. Everyone from the Maid of Honor to the Usher. Well, minus the Best Man and the Groomsmen"

"Yes,"

"I also discovered the location of the honey moon." The being continued. "Ah, but I already know that. Sorry, you don't get paid for that one." John pointed out.

"And do you know what resort they're staying at? Or what airline they're using?"

"Well... no, but that information will only come in handy if my plans to wreck the wedding fail! Wait... are you saying you think my plan will fail. You think MY plan will fail? I am John, Lord of Darkness(Dum Dum Duuuuuum!)! I am the master of evil plans!"

"And you would be deaf and blind to the Tri-Leaders' movements without me!" The spy hissed.

"Don't try to make yourself out as more important than you really are." John, warned, standing a little taller. John was tall for his age, and he hoped this would intimidate the spy. But he knew this one too well, he didn't scare easily. "Anyway," John said, breaking the tension. "Are you going to tell me this information?"

"I've written it down, in our own special shorthand, of course. We don't need this information falling into the wrong hands." The spy handed him a scrap of paper.

John held the paper up to the moonlight and read it.

"Hmm... very good. How much?"

The spy smirked under its hood. "For the list, 500. For the airline, resort, etc., 500. And for this..." He pulled a long scroll out of his robe. "I expect 900."

John raised a cynical eyebrow. "And what is that, dare I ask?"

"This," the spy said. "Is the schematic for the facility where the wedding is being held. All secret entrances and vents brightly high lighted."

John's eyes popped open. He snatched the schematic out of the spy's hand, and carefully perused it under the light.

"This... this is amazing!" John said.

"Ahem. If you don't mind, my lord, my fee?"

"Hmm? Oh yes. $1,900 is it?"

"Well, yes. But it took a great deal of work to get these. I'd like another hundred thousand added on."

John sighed. "Oh well, it's worth it if it helps me take over the world. Here you go: $101,900."

"Thank you my lord."

"Report back soon... DarkShadow."

John turned to put the schematics onto his desk, and when he turned back around, the spy known as DarkShadow was gone.

The door opened. John, Lord of Darkness(dramatic reverb) stuck his head into the room.

"Oh, sorry to startle you, Lordy. I just thought I heard a noise in here."

"It's ok John. Just never call me 'Lordy' again, or I'll send you down to Randal's office."

"Oh deary me! That would be so unSUPER!!!! Anyway, I've got to go to Sweden. I finally have enough money for that... operation..."

"Oh...ok... Um... Enjoy your life as a woman..."

"Oh I will, deary! I WILL!"

Something suddenly occurred to John(the Dum Dum Duuuum one). "HEY! What are you doing in my secret lair? You live over there!"

"Uh... nothing...nothing at all... uh... bye!"

John, Lord of Darkness(dramatic reverb) left, and John, Lord of Darkness(Dum Dum Duuuuuum!) returned to his thoughts. He had an odd feeling that when he woke up in the morning, he would find his cave painted pink, and all of the furniture tastefully rearranged... just like last month. Oh well, he'd just have Goober clean it up.

John looked over the schematics, and the lists, and ideas began to form in the gooey mess that he called a brain. The future was promising to be interesting.

Very interesting.
