| Chapter Eleven - The Bridal Shower |

"Okay, I'm tired of walking around out here at night. I can't see a thing." Roses complained.
Actually, it wasn't dark, Roses was just wearing a blindfold and being led around in the woods by Ann. "And I mean, it's not like the bridal shower is a secret. Or even the place, for that matter. I was the one who was with you when we found that buried treasure." "Oh just shut up and act surprised." Ann told her. "We're there now anyway." Roses removed the blindfold. The secret spot was decorated just for her shower. A large table was set up in the clearing with various party foods and a pile of presents. There were streamers and balloons hanging from the trees. Holli, Tails, Katherine and lone sat around the table. "Hey you guys! *What* a *surprise* to see *you* all here! Is this a *surprise* bridal shower for *me*?" "Oh shut up." Ann told her again. Roses smiled and went over to the table. The girls all started eating and gossiping about the guys. "Yeah, and can you believe Adam actually said that?" "At least it's not as bad as what Todd told me." "And Eric said it too! Shame on him!" A little while later, Ann leaned over and whispered something to Tails. Tails grinned evilly, jumped up and grabbed the presents. She then brought them over and dumped them on the table next to Roses. "I hope none of these break." Roses said, reaching for the first one. It was from Holli and it was a book called: "One Hundred and One Ways to Torture Someone at Disney World." Roses opened to the first page. "1. Sing 'It's a Small World continuously.'" She giggled and turned the page. "2. Refuse to leave until you drag your companion around to see every single cartoon character and force them to talk to you. Stomp on their feet if necessary and blame the person you're with." "These are really good ideas, Holli. I'll have to read them all later. And use them." The next present was from Katherine. It was some sexy black lingerie. "Katherine! You're ten years old! How on earth did you buy this? What store lets a ten year old buy lingerie like this!" "No comment." Katherine said mysteriously. They all stared. "What? It's not like I stole it or anything. Well, not technically. I did leave them something in return." Roses laughed and got the next present. The card read "From Tails. Use this well." Roses opened the box to find a pair of shiny new handcuffs. "Yay! Thanks Tails! I didn't have handcuffs of my own. Of course I'll use them well!" lone's present was next. Inside the larger box was a toaster. "Um...thanks!" Roses said, confused. "Hmph. No one told me it wasn't a traditional bridal shower. Most people get toasters and blenders at bridal showers. I guess I just wasn't thinking." lone said. "You know, I actually didn't think about that. We might need stuff like a toaster after we actually get married. This is a good idea." "Well...if you're sure, then okay." Ann handed Roses the last present with a card that said: From one Supreme Tri-Leader to another. Congratulations and good luck! I know more than anyone else that you'll need it." "Aww, thanks Ann." Roses said, tearing the paper off the last present. It was a brand-new whip. In perfect condition. "ooooooo" all the girls said. "That's great! Can I have one?" Tails asked. "Maybe when you get married." Ann told her. Roses stood up to make a speech. "Well, um...thanks you guys! This bridal shower has been great, and I have wonderful presents, and you all are just the best! I'm glad you're going to be at my wedding. Maybe we'll outnumber the guys. And torture them for entertainment." "Oh, wait, there's one more surprise!" Ann said. Holli giggled mischeviously and went off into the bushes. "I told you not to hire strippers!" Roses said, horrified. Suddenly, the surrounding trees caught on fire. The girls screamed and ran around throwing whatever punch was left on the flames, unsuccessfully trying to put out the blaze. After several mintues, a fire truck pulled up, and several firemen jumped out. One that looked suspiciously like Tyrael disguised as Ian ran over to the girls and started stripping. Roses covered her eyes as all the other firemen ran over. "Ann! Why did you have to hire all these guys! One was too many! And the whole fire thing was a little overdramatic!" "I didn't hire them!" Ann yelled over the noise of the fire. "Then why are they here?!" Holli smiled happily, staring at the flames. "All I was trying to do was light the candles on the surprise cake." "A cake? At a bridal shower? With candles?" "Yeah, well why not?" lone asked. "Oh well, let's get out of here!" Katherine said, and they ran off through the woods. The firemen eventually put out the flames and drove off. Tyrael, unconscious from inhaling too much smoke while dancing, finally woke up and wondered why he was in the woods...and more importantly why he was naked. Giving up, he wandered around, lost, until he found a highway, where a friendly trucker named Clementine gave him a ride home. The Library Home |
