Callista was born on the planet Chad III. On Chad III her and her family herded wander-kelp. She was discovered by the Jedi Master Dijinn Altis to have the ability to "touch" the Force. She followed Dijinn to Bespin to be trained as a Jedi, while training with Dijiin whe met Geith another Force-sensitive person. Her and Geith became friends and while on a mission they came across the secret dreadnaught called the "Eye of Palpatine." Callista and Geith boarded the "Eye of Palpatine" with the intent of destroying it, but they were both killed in the process, but somehow Callista had managed to attach her spirit to the gunnery computer on the station. She remained alone on the superweapon for thirty years. Then Luke Skywalker and his Jedi students, Nichos Marr and Nichos' fiancee Cray Mingla. Luke was able to sense Callista's presence on the ship. Luke an Callista fell in love as the sommunicated through the Force and in their dreams. With Callista's help Luke, Cray, and Nichos formed a paln to destroy the ship. Afraid that Luke would compromise the mission to save her, Callista had Cray stun Luke and place him on one of the evacuations shuttles. When Nichos was killed in the mission, Cray made the decision to scrafice herself to destroy the ship and to stay with her love Nichos. At the last minute though she offered her body to Callista so that Callista could be with the one she loved. Overjoyed at the idea of being able to be with Luke Callista accepted Cray's offer. The trade bore a heavy price on Callista's part, she could no long touch the Force or could even be sensed in the Force. Distressed by the loss of her ability she felt unworthy of Luke's love. She and Luke went to many places strong in the Force to try and regain her ability, but they found out that all she could touch was the dark side. As the Jedi Acedemy at Yavin IV came under attack by Admiral Daala Luke and Callista returned. During the battle Callista decided it was best if she separated from Luke while she searched for her lost powers. She then took an enemy snubfighter up to the Gorgon (Admiral Daala's ship) and dueled with Daala. Both evcuated the ship before it blew up and Callista left on her own to search from her powers. Callista met up with Luke for the last time on Nam Chorios after warning him not to go there. While there Callista teaches Leia how to handle a lightsaber (Leia at this point had been taken hostage and escaped from Seti Ashgad....). At the end of the novel Luke leavex Nam Chorios and they leave each other to travel their own separate "roads." Callista continued her search alone for her lost powers...
