The Able Muse- A Review of Metrical Poetry

Accessibility- *** This site did not pose any great difficulties in my survey. It was very professional.

Logical Layout- ***The icons in this page are user friendly. The featured writers have their own clearly defined space that does not interfere with the more official workings of the site.

Easy to Find Submission Guidelines- *** In order to find the link to the submission guidelines a poet had to browse the icons at the bottom of the page (the about icon). It did not take too long to find but I like being able to see from the homepage where such important items are.

Straight Forward Rules of Submission- ***** This site takes a specific kind of poetry (metrical) and is clearly stated in several places. The deadlines are listed, the number of poems per submission is included, it specifies that attachments are allowed, a bio is required, the publishing rights are specified Most importantly there is a submission and contact email should a poet have further questions.

Other- **** This site looks literary with the scholarly brown background. It is a comfortable site and reflects the order of the type of poetry it is looking for.

Overall- **** A poet using this site will respect the high standards of their work and aspire to be included among them. Of course this is a purely metrical journal so the possibilities are restricted in that way. This site was one of the most dependable looking sites that I found anywhere, of course poetry lends itself homegrown amateur types that are the next movement is poetry. This is not one of those sites but it has its own power in the structure that it has made.
