At 11:00 a.m. we went to court.   The judge was very nice.  The hearing lasted 20 minutes.

Back to the Orphanage

We returned to the orphanage to eat lunch: tomatoes, pickles, bread, soup (served with mayonnaise or sour cream), fried potatoes, meat, and chocolate candy bars for dessert.

The orphanage is very hot.  Everyone is very friendly.  There are 55-60 children in the orphanage but several are not adoptable (working mothers have them there for daycare during the day, the children are ill, or parents are in jail).

serovorp2.JPG (26456 bytes) This is a picture of Maks' room.  In front is a double high chair and 4-5 babies play in the playpen.
All of the baby carriages in Russia look like this.  During naptime, the babies are bundled up and the carriages are wheeled outside into the snowbanks to take their naps.  This also is to give them fresh air. buggies.JPG (26852 bytes)
