This aerial photo does a good job of showing the topography. Bellingham is only 27 miles (as the bird flies) from the snowiest mountain on earth. Yet, Bellingham receives almost no snow. The white X in the photo indicates the Sudden Valley area. I have a lot for sale in that area right on the shore of Lake Whatcom - well, only about 100 yards from the shore.
