On February 11-13 there was a trip to Québec organized by
the French Club (thanks, Jen, we really appreciate that). The
Carnaval de Québec had already started by that time and there
were a lot of activities going on. We were lucky to have quite
high temperatures, usually from about -10ºC to -20ºC, with
light winds and sunny weather most of the time.
I stayed in a room at the Ramada Inn together with Guido, Alison
and Sandra.

On the place des jardins there are a lot of activities going on during the
winter carnaval (which is sponsored mainly by Kellogg's).

Some of the snow sculptures. A lot of artists from
different nations (including Germany) contributed.

This is the bain de neige, the snow bath. Crazy people taking a
refreshing bath at -10ºC. For details see next picture.

Ice climbing is one of the fun activities offered there.

This picture was taken from the top of the city wall.

Here you can see again how nice a city can look
if it's covered with snow. This was the Grande Allée
if I remember correctly.

This is Aurélie after one of the snow fights.

It was kind of difficult to take a picture of the ice castle.
This is only one of the rooms.

The River Saint Laurent looked great with all the
ice drifting on it.

Last but not least: a nice group picture. On the left you can
see Alison sitting on Markus Kaiser's lap.
