Dr. Paula L. Smith-Hawkins is expected to take the reins as the Dean of social sciences and the library during the summer. 

Smith-Hawkins is currently the lead faculty of sociology at Pima Community College in Tucson, Ariz.  She also is the founder and coordinator of the honors program at Pima and has served on the Pima Phi Theta Kappa committee. 

Smith-Hawkins will be replacing interim dean Leo Christenson.
