La Vega is the place to go if you want to experience
Carnival in the Dominican Republic. A
group of us went for the day on Independence Day (February 27) when the entire
city was absolutely packed with people. It
is crazy!
Costumed people walking up and down the street, whipping those without costumes with inflated pig bladders! Really, this one of the crazier things that I have seen.
I will try and get some of our pictures up here soon, but as I don’t have a digital camera I can only get them to you when they have got to me. In the meantime, here is one to wet your whistle!
