The Brandon Award:
The Killers
The 2nd album was a great follow-up.
The Bullet Award:
The Killers
I don't buy much music.
The Mark Award:
Rockstar Supernova
Very talented musicians, plus they had a kickass series on television this summer that got them worldwide exposure.
The Matty Award:
Goo Goo Dolls
Maybe it just has to do with seeing them live, but have to go with the Goo Goo Dolls.
The Ricky Award:
Rockstar Supernova
Call me a sucker for super groups but once I had heard that former GnR, Metallica and Motley Crue members were going to form a band, I was sold on the idea. Rock Star Supernova`s debut album really shows that tv star rockers Tommy Lee, Gilby Clarke and Jason Newsted were sound in selecting the eyeliner-heavy Lukas Rossi as their lead singer. The band really by no means creates any music that is original or insightful but they seem to form glam rock, grunge and metal into some rather cool ways. This band also from me deserves to get the award for the year`s most generic uninspired rock album. While highly typical it is not without its high points. Thanks in part to Rossi`s fresh vocal power, which fuses some kind of Layne Staley, Chris Cornell and Scott Weiland hybrid. Check out Leave the Lights On, Its All Love and Dead Parade.
